Why is this tread allowed?

My thoughts are as follows if someone uses the info in this thread bitcointalk.org could easily be sued for the damaged caused.

I am US based and have a bit of understanding of liability laws. Bitcointalk.org is USA based and would be subject to USA laws.

So I see the thread as a threat to bitcointalk.org

I Thought This Might Be Helpful To Someone Here And Decided To Share. Today I am sharing with you a method not new, but explained like never before, showing how people are making 100K+ in a month or less than a week, depending on how eager you are.


Let's start with what a crypto drainer is:

Simply put, it's a scam page that you share with victims (crypto wallet victims). Once they are on the page, they are requested to connect their wallet. Once the wallet is connected, Boom! All the crypto, tokens, NFTs, and assets in the wallet are transferred to you.

Wait, how??  How do drainers work?

The drainers depend on the quality of the script. They have bots working behind the scenes. Once the victim connects their wallet, it automatically starts transferring all valuable assets from the wallet without even asking for the victim's confirmation.

How is that possible?

Yes, it is possible. Here's how: When the drainer asks you to connect your wallet, it also sends a contract (just like connecting to a platform like Opensea). Once the contract is signed, you give the scammer access to all the assets in your wallet.

Where they found the drainers ?

This is the million-dollar question. There are many ways:

- You can develop your own, but you should have at least 99.99% knowledge of blockchain.
- You can buy it, which costs between 5K-30K, but 91% of the sellers are scammers. Why? Really? You're asking why?
- The most common option is renting it from providers like Exogator (+17k members) , AngelDrain (+1.6k members), etc.  The advantage here is that your subscription (start from  $199) keeps your scripts updated, but they take a percentage of your earnings too.

Some methods they are using
 
- Emails: If you have an email sending method (SMTP, Mailer, Server, etc.) and a good list of potential targets who are interested in crypto or are likely to have wallets, you can email them. There are many options you can use (e.g., "You just received 200 USDT on your wallet, claim it... +999 other options").
- Social Media: You can create fake accounts to share your link with others, offering them airdrops or rewards.
- SMS: You can use SMS in the same way as emails.

I really think it should be deleted and not just locked. When it's locked, it is still visible and unsuspecting people can fall victim to the content of the thread and threads of this nature shouldn't be found anywhere in this reputable forum, but when it's not there anymore, it's as good as non-existent.

Extra caution should always be employed in order to prioritize maintaining the reputation of the forum.

In the past few weeks and months, Bitcointalk has been under attack by spammers who create endless of this kind of threads offering free money scam pozi and the rest, across most boards in this forum and moderators have been working actively to eliminate such threads and banned accounts such as this one, maybe this one of those threads that have escaped the eyes of the moderators, probably because the thread starter was the one that locks the thread, but what best right now is to report the thread to be deleted, since we don't support scam or it related discussion around this forum.

It's one thing for you to respect freedom and not moderate scams and another to keep junk on the forum that no one is interested in other than the OP of that thread who is a newbie.

I appreciate the concern, and you’re absolutely right... Those scam threads are a problem actually, but as a community, it’s on us to actively report them, like patrolling our own neigborhood. These scams will keep popping up from time to time because they see this forum as having big "scam potential." I’m not well-versed in the law, but anything that concerns the forum is always worth discussing. Thanks for bringing this up philipma1957.

I am not surprised to see such threads created by newbies and brand new members, but there is no need to create topics in meta for this.
Just report it to moderators and they will probably delete it or ban him and any future members like this.
Note that I don't think forum should be responsible for everything members are writing.

So now we're moderating scams after years of being told that we can't possibly moderate scams because moderators are too dumb or something LOL

I think I have the quirks of this forum figured out and still I'm getting surprised by the terrible inconsistent decisions. Imagine a newbie trying to navigate here. No wonder most new members come here to spam, it's not a place for a sane person.

Do you include yourself in that definition? Or I guess you think you are the exception that proves the rule. As the other forums I know are either full of trolls or are moderated censored by socialists, I like this one quite a bit.

What you could do, philipma1957, is lock the thread, otherwise I see quite a few people commenting on this one even though the thread being criticized has already been trashed.

I'm almost doubted you but after twice thoughts, I think you're right. The thread visibilities was actually meant to be for the strong hearted who're under control of themselves in that they don't imitate harmful given opportunities at the basis of selfish acts and doesn't care about the outcome of harming others.
Making it clearer, there'd be users here who might find this thread interesting, follows it up and puts it to practice. I'm not sure if this forum is 100% of it users being genuine which means the thread could serve as speculations enlightening such illegitimate users in the forum as introduction to others means of scamming if not learnt of it yet.

The detail to this skill was really being too educative like admirable that could breed interests on ones already having fraudulent habits.
But if we're mindly cleansed, then it's okay as detailed so we could as well see the level scammers goes that makes them possibly come up with the most believable strategies being used to victimize crypto users. I can bet it that if not for this forum that educates us on how scammers are operates in different dimensions, lot of us here would had fallen victims to the scammers on several ways.
The visibility of this thread is to instigate how genuine the scammers might actually pretend to be if look into their profiles and of course their sites. Very convinceable to believe to be genuine but only the greeds would fall in to them if blindly follows their tips but then, I'd still do agree that the concept of this post is a guide to adopt this method.

I agree that the forum is not responsible for what users write here, but legally that has already caused problems for many administrators of other forums (not related to crypto) and depending on the country the problems have been more or less serious. These types of threads should be deleted immediately and their authors banned. The forum, in a way, should protect its users, although it is not its obligation.
