This is kind of a theoretical question and scenario:
> I pay on a merchant's website with BitPay
> I get a confirmation from BitPay that I've paid and am returned back to the merchant's website
> I don't get a confirmation for my payment from the merchant, no email, nothing
> All I have is a screenshot of the BitPay payment screen saying I have paid, the merchant's name and my name are mentioned
> The bitcoin address I paid on through BitPay could indeed be anybody's as it is nowhere associated with the merchant
If the merchant's refutes that I have paid him for his goods, how can I use BitPay to prove that I have made a payment to that merchant? (I can't find anywhere on BitPay's website that they provide proof that a given transaction commits a specific merchant to a specific client.)
