Which exchanges provide legit trading volume data?

Since I use volume profile indicator for trading I wonder how do I know which exchanges are known to provide true volume data and have considerable history.

There are two types; Reported volume and Adjustes volume based on Coinpaprika:

Adjusted Volume - Volume from spot markets with percentage fee type (excluding markets with no fees, transaction mining, and other trading incentives).
Reported Volume - Total volume we are getting directly from exchanges through their API without interference. It’s usually bigger than adjusted volume.

You can use them or use on some trading chart like tradingview and select and activate the Volume indicator. But I am still not sure if they are really legit.

Also see the difference in normalised volume and 24 hours volume. The normalised volume is more accurate than the 24 hours volume since it can be faked.

If you asking about exchange that have real volume, there are only ten exchange that qualified according to Bitwise investigation.

CMC used exchange API for their website data, it's possibly the data is not real volume.

I would like to say too that I've seen an article and reports before about the data that CMC is showing. They were not been accurate at all and many of them were faked but not by them but the exchanges that are just attached to their API.

If you're looking for legit volume, I think it's best just to use the reputable exchanges like Binance.

I'm not against with CMC but I'm discouraging you to use this site if you want to watch those real volume on exchange since they are not giving an accurate data and many people can testify that and also you can check here the transparency data of each crypto exchange https://nomics.com/exchanges.

It's likely that they have fixed that already but relying on the data that they are showing, I guess you have to find a better source because they've been know to be like. It doesn't matter anymore with their reputation.

They have already built themselves and people just browse on their website and advertisers come to list and advertise themselves there, so they will care or not, they have already established the site.

I think there is no tool to know whether a volume of an exchange is totally real or fake. But I guess most exchanges have a hybrid mixture of fake and real volumes. Some have larger fake volumes than the real ones while a handful have larger real ones than fake ones. If you want, choose the exchanges that are popularly accepted by the majority such as Binance. The volume there is mostly real.

binance was a big exchange so the high volume that we saw on this exchange are more likely to be legit  while other unpopular exchange that shows some massive amount of volume could be fake  .

there are also tools that we can use to see the volumes of an exchange and most of those tools were already proposed above    . some examples would be cmc and coingecko   .  cmc is the ones that people use the most for this matter while coingecko works fine also

I think almost every reputable exchange is already giving out the best trading volume data that they have and as long as there are volume in their coins, it could be considered that it’s the real volume. I’m just wondering if you are also considering that most of it are connected in programs like automatic trading bots that produce volume. I think it can still be considered because it’s being actively traded. There are people who are behind it and they are using bots for the ease of use.

The oldest exchanges are the ones with the data that dates years ago, I’m not sure where you could get that but I think it could be requested. Maybe there are services that could do that for you and then analyze the data you have gathered accordingly.

Actually I'm not relying on data's regarding on their exchange listing but the one I'm looking for with them is where does my new coins or tokens listed since they are the one who are the number 1 target by the dev's interms of data listing. And It's really best for them to listen up the sentiments of the people since for sure if many people will complain about their service provided their platform will collapse especially if their competitor will step up and starting to gain some fame.

It is very possible that all data on exchanges are not real even if they are top exchanges because truthfully there is no way to detect if they are legit or not, i still trust binance exchange among the others

If you want to see the volume of data exchange, of course there are many who use Coinmarketcap and Coingecko, but all the data displayed there is not very correct, it is always manipulated or falsified.
Popular exchanges will definitely have a valid and widely trusted volume, so the exchange will be even tougher if you want to include tokens in popular exchanges.

It does not mean that the volume is legit because it is coming from a big exchange. Even in Binance, there is a portion in their volume that is not legit. There is no single crypto exchange with a one hundred percent legit volume. A portion of all crypto exchange volumes goes to bots and fake traders of coins to make sure their coins are moving.

CMC and coingecko data are not legit and clean.

Most exchanges have fake volumes they do this to attract traders to trade on their exchanges, even if you use CMC or Coingecko as a reference to see the trading volume, that's not indicate that's they display actual volume.
Hard to spot that issues, just carefull when trade.

I guess its not possible to figure out actual trading volume of any exchange but here is a list of 10 exchange had actual trading volume.
