[Update: So, the story has a funny/tragic ending.  The site was hacked.]

So the site I'm about to tell you about was not designed to be a April Fools Joke, though it is funny. (& I plan to write an off-topic blog post about it sometime next week.)

So my buddy Nathan was learning how to code PHP about 6 months ago. His first project was just a one off/fun web app called --site was hacked I've removed the link-- don't go to it.  Anyway, he knew the site would never catch on or be viable, etc. because facebook could just send him some cease and desist letters and shut it down.

He moved on. He's been pouring his soul into a pretty cool skateboarding social network site (that he wants me to keep a secret blah, blah, blah, lame)  He's spent so many weekends on this site, it's not even funny.

Anyways... things don't always work out as planned.

Apparently, some fears in Malaysia about government/internet censorship spiked an interest into Facebook alternatives...

In the past week: 875 organic uniques --->> all from malaysia.
Here's the Google Analytics report:  https://docs.google.com/viewer?a=v&pid=explorer&chrome=true&srcid=1_ZIifN-GyDx5umojcJ9Gr1mbtsK0TwcUzuNmoN3DME29NebRp8RZEKmnJc8j&hl=en&pli=1

So me and another programming buddy have decided prank his test site with hundreds of new users.(mostly under joke usernames)

If you guys would like to join in the fun... Well... It will be fun. Enjoy.

This time, the joke will be on him.   Cheesy

PS-  I'm trying to fact check the internet censorship bit.  It's all a bit murky.

@mewantsbitcoin Wow, so, the site was hacked, and you probably got redirected to a pr0n site.

Hmm, glad you took it so well.  Lol.

I removed the direct link to the site from the post above.
