I can't tell from the video if the establishment have security grilles they can drop down but yes, the last thing I'd want to do in a commotion is head right out to it. We've had some incidents in malls in our country where there would be shoot outs and what staff would do is keep their customers in their stores and shut the grilles and doors close.

if you actually research it.
the words were that the terrorist has been stopped. meaning no threat of stabbings..
the actual risk is from a IED (a bomb) risk/threat/suspision
no window grating would remove that sort of risk.
a bomb can take out a whole building and people should be 50-100m away from the location.. not huddled under a table.

heck. when there is a gas leak in a street. the firemen also evacuate. they dont say carry on enjoy your burger just hide under a table..

i think too many people thought that the old adverts of hearing an air-raid siren for a nuke meant that duck and cover would save them..

the point of the video was not about the police officer interrupting their meal for no reason.. the point of the video is the customer thinking a bigmac was more important than their life

duck and cover is last resort if escape is not possible. not first choice. last choice
