I was browsing LoyceV trust list viewer and have seen some users have trusted/distrusted other users who have never sent any feedback to others. If we were to build our custom trust list based on the feedback user leave to others, what's the point of trusting/distrusting someone if they have never sent any feedback?

Trust lists are recursive: when you trust/distrust someone, you also implicitly trust/distrust everyone in their trust list, and everyone in their trust lists, and so on up to the maximum depth specified in your trust settings. Thus it is often useful to trust/distrust people based on who is in their trust lists, even if they haven't left any feedback directly. This is especially important for Default Trust members, since everyone they trust is effectively in Default Trust as well.

Trust lists are recursive: when you trust/distrust someone, you also implicitly trust/distrust everyone in their trust list, and everyone in their trust lists
Small but crucial correction: trust is recursive, distrust is not. So if you exclude a user, his inclusions and exclusions don't mean anything to you.

You can exclude someone based on what you've seen from them, even before they leave feedback. Think of it as preventing future feedback from showing up.

As the above posters have noted, distrust is affecting how the profile setting the distrust sees the profiles of others.
If the profile is also in default trust, then it can have an effect on voting for the exclusion of users they distrust. Those users in my opinion should be more careful with their votes as it affects the forum overall.

But other than that, it should be considered a personal preference. In my view, trust list exclusions should only be discussed if and when they come to a point to be blocking a certain user's ranking up to the so called "trust pipeline".

what's the point of trusting/distrusting someone if they have never sent any feedback?
Trust or not trust someone, no, should send feedback to certain members.

I mean this: I like you not vice versa and it is required me to propose to you, if you are a woman and vice versa if you are a man.

Trust is:
Quote
Confidence and belief is an attitude that is shown by humans when they feel they know enough and conclude that they have reached the truth. Because belief is an attitude, then one's belief is not always true or belief alone is not a guarantee of truth.

I hope you can understand the words above.

Although I may not understand your question clearly, I think that trusting or not trusting someone is a subjective element of each user, who doesn't send any feedback to other users, they still express their opinions on certain issues. For example, if I have never sent a feedback to someone, I express an opinion and you feel that my opinion is incorrect, you may not trust me, or vice versa. From beginning, trust is a subjective factor, so I think that your personal opinion is what determines whether or not you trust someone.

Someone can be trusted/distrusted based on how they behave or posted around the forum. It's not a must that they should have first sent feedback to some other members.
For example someone could be attempting to scam people by posting scam links. They will definitely be distrusted whether they have ever sent feedback or not. Same applies when someone does positive things around the forum.

I hope this is not off-topic here.
I find that feedbacks posted by user Royse777, I see only in "Untrusted feedback"
He is DT1, on my trust list I have "default trust" and I haven't ~Royse777 there. So, why I don't see his feedback in "Trusted feedback" when they are DT1?
I guess some are from my list distrust Royse777 and this was reflected what I see on user trust.

You can't have a custom trust list and have Default Trust. As soon as you add anyone to your own list, you no longer include Default Trust, even if you manually add "Default Trust" back in. See below:
If your trust list is totally empty, you trust "DefaultTrust", which includes some trustworthy people that I'll select. But if you add anyone to your trust list, even if they don't trust anyone, DefaultTrust will no longer be considered part of your trust list.

If you visit https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;full, you will be able to see exactly who on your trust list is either including or excluding any particular user. Looking at Loyce's site, it seems that you trust JollyGood, Coolcryptovator, and TalkStar, who all distrust Royse777.

It does not matter whether that member has trusted other members or has sent any feedback, but more importantly, you trust that account holder and therefore you trust any feedback that he makes in the future.

For example, I added this member (@johoe) to my trust list because he had "Returned over 250 BTC that blockchain.info lost due to negligence". This behavior indicates a person who deserves trust, so I added he even though he did not send any feedback.

He is trustworthy, you can trade with him without any tension and it's almost certain that he will not scam you.
But that doesn't mean his power of judgement can be good, these two are different thing according to LoyceV beginner guideline.

In this case, if you trust him even though he doesn't give any feedback, how do you realize that his judgment is good or not? LOL A person who never gives a response means he doesn't bother to make any judgments  Roll Eyes But the important thing is that he acts right, just believes him  Wink

I think it's normal thing. Trust system is not just about feedbacks left. You can distrust someone without leaving feedback. You can make decision by seing how someone behave on forum. Maybe someone have completely opposite views than you and it's enough to distrust that person, but you obviously can't tag him for it.
For example, I can't trust person who says that earth is flat, but I can't tag him for it.
