Just to remind everyone. If you are a follower and subscriber of Neebs Gaming Channel in youtube, their account has been hacked and rebranded as Coinbase Channel in order to scam viewers to get some bitcoin.

It was announced by Neeb Gaming channel through their twitter.

Quote
The unidentified crypto scammers have changed the channel’s name and banner to Coinbase Pro in an attempt to mislead subscribers and viewers to participate in fake Bitcoin giveaways.

They made a livestream video titled, "Coinbase CEO announced the greatest crypto Air-Drop 10,000 Bitcoin, Live.” Unfortunately, since they have 1.8 million subscribers, 95,000 viewed the said video. They have promised 10x returns if someone will send some bitcoin to their btc address.

Quote
At press time, the hackers’ Bitcoin address had received just over 2.465 BTC in 20 separate transactions. Based on current bitcoin prices, it is estimated that they have stolen roughly over US$24,000 in total [AU$35,874].

As Neebs already reported this kind of scam to youtube, the stolen btc is irreversible and can notbe retrieve anymore. Another new way to hack and scam people.
Never ever fall from this kind of promises- high returns, easy doubling your money, etc.

Still can't believe anyone falls for this petty trick. It's not new and easy to identify too. Something is obviously wrong if a channel suddenly starts streaming something that is not their main topic.

I already made thread about Neebs Gaming and their YouTube channel being hacked.
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5226242.msg53851799#msg53851799

Luckily, their channel has been restored few days ago and its in their control now. Let's hope they are more careful from now on,both them and all the other YouTube channel owners, as bunch of them failed for a same trick and got their channel hacked.

The way scammers usually do it is that they pretend to have some software that needs promotion, and ask those YouTube creators to try it out and then they will pay them for promotion. But that software has some kind of malware, and they don't check properly before installing. Cheap trick, but many fell for that.

Still can't believe anyone falls for this petty trick. It's not new and easy to identify too. Something is obviously wrong if a channel suddenly starts streaming something that is not their main topic.
I don't think that their main target are those that were already following Neebs Gaming. They simply wanted that channel because it has big subscribers number, so it appears more legit. Afterall, Neebs Gaming lost almost more than 100k subscribers in those 4-5 days during which they didn't have channel in their control, so quite a few people figured it out.
It is true though that there will always be few who will fall for this kind of thing, send 1 BTC and get 10 back. People do stupid things when they get greedy, and if crypto market doesn't lack something, it's the greedy people.
