Hi

I still have a Wallet but I needed to create a new one. So, I did. But no BTC in it. I created a BTC adress to receive and saved it with a name and created a Backup of this new wallet. So. I was waiting to receive a little value but the BTC address was invalid. When I logged into this new wallet, I verified that the Address hase not been saved, but I´m sure it was.

Did I make something wrong?

Do you mean that the address shown in the "receive" tab has changed?

If yes, every time you receive a transaction, the address shown in "receive" tab changes. But you can still see all your addresses in "addresses" tab.

If the "addresses" tab in not available, click on "View" on top of the window and select "show addresses"

When you say the address was "invalid", what exactly do you mean? Did you try to make a transaction to it an Electrum rejected the address as being invalid? Or did you manage to make a transaction succesfully, but the receiving address is no longer showing up in your wallet?

I verified that the Address hase not been saved, but I´m sure it was.
Do you mean the address you initially copied is no longer showing up in your wallet? This could be a simple case of your wallet generating a new receiving address as hosseinimr93 has said, or this could be clipboard malware altering the address you initially copied.

Hi Sauaba,
I'm sorry to say I'm having a hard time understanding you, and based on the two responses above, I don't think I'm the only one.  It may help us if you find another way of describing your situation.

From what I can gather, you created a new wallet in Electrum, but were unable to use that address.  Does the new address start with b1c?  If so, that may be your problem.  Some exchanges and custodial wallets do not support those typed of addresses yet.  You can try creating a new wallet, and instead of choosing a native segwit wallet (p2wpkh) chose the p2sh-segwit (p2wpkh-p2sh).  Electrum will create a wallet with addresses that start with the number 3.  Those will be compatible with any exchange or another type of wallet.

¬snip¬
It's indeed hard to understand OP but I too think his problem is with Native SegWit since some of the services do not accept the format. I have this experience with a lot of bookies LOL

@Sauaba, pick one from here. Your btc address starts with:
        bc1------------------
        1--------------------
        3--------------------

If bc1 then you need to have an address which starts with 1 or 3.

I think the user is trying to send money to bc1 SegWit wallet, "receive address starts with bc1", but unfortunately, the exchange platform did not update its code so he gets an invalid error.
When he wanted to verify that the address was correct, he found that the receiving address had changed.

To @OP: If you keep the backup, you are safe.
The wallet changes the receiving address every period, so it is not a problem.  if you suspect that there are viruses, it is better to make sure that you are copying/pasting the same address.

Are you trying to send money to yourself from an exchange, and when you paste your new address the exchange tells you that the address is invalid?
Or is another person trying to send you money and he gets an invalid address message?

The first problem could be related to an exchange not supporting native segwit addresses.
If someone is trying to send you money from another wallet, he should be able to send to a native segwit address, unless he is using some sort of web wallet or exchange.

When you logged back into your wallet to check the address, was it still the same address or a different one?

If the invalid error wasn't from other exchanges and you receive the error from your old Electrum wallet to a new wallet like this image below.

You might paste a wallet address with extra spaces or the address you paste has a missing character then you will get the invalid warning the same as the image above shown.

Your lucky it wasn't sent you can copy the address again from your new wallet and make sure there are no extra spaces or missing character when pasting it from your old wallet. (Only if I understand your post correctly) but if the error "invalid" comes from other exchanges as others said above maybe the exchange you use don't support bc1 addresses yet or you are trying to send other coins to your bitcoin address?

By breaking-down the vague parts, I think he's looking for the "invalid address" (prob 'bc1') that he used to withdraw from an exchange:

I still have a Wallet but I needed to create a new one.
So, I did. But no BTC in it.
-He created a new wallet and obviously, it doesn't have balance.

Quote from: Sauaba
I created a BTC adress to receive and saved it with a name and created a Backup of this new wallet. So. I was waiting to receive a little value but the BTC address was invalid. When I logged into this new wallet, I verified that the Address hase not been saved, but I´m sure it was.
-He thought by creating an invoice in the receive tab, he had 'created' and saved a new address.

@Sauaba Address aren't created and saved as you request one in the 'receive' tab.
Those are pre-generated as you created your wallet, it's just hidden by default. You can view them in the "Addresses Tab" (View->Show Addresses menu).
If you created an invoice and exit Electrum, the address that's shown in the Receive tab will use the next unused address.

You can also create multiple wallet in Electrum without deleting the others.
If the list shows a set of addresses that starts with different number/letter than your "saved address", then it's a different wallet.
Try to find if it's in your other wallet using "File->Open" menu.

The reason why bech32 address (bc1) is invalid was already answered.
