Thank you.

If the posts are insubstantial and spammy, then report the posts to the moderators to be deleted. Alternatively, you can make your threads self moderated and you can delete the posts yourself. Be aware that indiscriminately deleting any posts which disagree with you or criticize your project will make many users suspect you of trying to silence legitimate issues, which is the usual behavior of scams.
Or, grow thicker skin and ignore them.

Do you have an ANN thread that users are accusing as being a fake/dodgy project? If they have no proof or anything valid against the project nor is their reputation in question, then their attacks are not well grounded and a blind eye should be turned at them. You can report spammy posts to the mods, but only if they are LQ posts, constructive criticism against you or your project for instance wouldn't be removed by the moderator, even if you do not like them.

This post basically answers everything you need to know. Maybe in addition to o_e_l_e_os advice: If you don't know where to find the "Report to Moderator"-Button, it's on the down right of the post you want to report. Just click it and fill in a comment why you want to report the post and click on "Submit".

Just ignore it. If you see someone trolling again and again then put the member under ignore so you will never see what has been written by them. In the world of the internet not everyone will accept what you are, so ignore and move on.

Trolling is easy to deal with. You demonstrate clearly that they are lying or incorrect. If they continue to present their statements as true or correct they will be warned or banned. If it is clearly false they are deliberately trying to mislead members which is dangerous. If they are just continuously making negative claims about you that they can't substantiate then that is something you could call for public review. They need to substantiate to continually throw negative claims at you. They need to provide compelling or have some strong and reasonable grounds. Like if every thread they were claiming you were a scammer they should be able to provide evidence of that when called on it. You can not expect protection outside of that since that would require bias. The truth should protect you but here that is not always enough

It's such a wide community down here so trolls and people with negative vibes are expected to be here. You don't really need to do much in avoiding them you can just turn their negative vibes into useful process. Or if you want put them on ignore

I agree with you. If someone promotes a project, it is better to make ANN with "self-moderated" mode. So, he can fully control the ANN. Then, he can delete spams or posts which are trying to create hatred or unclear accusation immediately. I think it will be more effective than creating ANN with NO self-moderated mode. Sometimes it will take a longer time to delete the posts by using "report to moderator" feature.

That's what I'd recommend to anyone as a general rule for being a member of this forum--people can be extremely prickly or downright abusive, and moderators don't often delete posts because of their content unless it's something off-topic. And that kind of freedom of speech is fantastic IMO, and it's one of the reasons why I love this forum. OP, I'll second the suggestion that if someone is spamming garbage in a thread, hit the "report to moderator" button. They may or may not act on your report, but at least you took action. But I'd say just let most idiotic things you see here slide right off you, because there's going to be a lot of it--and it varies widely by section. If you get your fur ruffled because of the number of morons posting absolute crap, you'll end up either pulling your hair out or leaving bitcointalk altogether.

Report to moderator - On the positive side, this action is good, it will make this forum cleaner every day. But speaking a little in the opposite direction, I hate to see the accuracy rate in my reports decrease, some of my reports are not censored, others rejected despite that posts are extremely useless Like you say, we act, but the morderator don't I like the way you talk about thick skin, but honestly, if everyone develops this way, this forum will go for the worse

Yeah, like all scam projects do around here. When I see a coin with a self-moderated topic it's an instant red flag. If your project can be destroyed by a bunch of trolls then it was a failure from the start.

We recently had a troll in the Croatian local who did nothing but attack Bitcoin for over a month. I am not sure what his intentions were as he spent more time on the forum than people who have an interest in Bitcoin. The best cure has already been suggested. Just report him and ignore him. It is not always easy to do and people feel like they need to say something, but whatever you would throw at this guy he would just continue in his own way. Eventually people got tired of responding to his rants and he is no longer posting.

Just ignore it. If you see someone trolling again and again then put the member under ignore so you will never see what has been written by them. A small clarification In addition to all the other helpful suggesions, what oeleo and Findingnemo stated means to click on the "Ignore" button placed next the troll's / spammer's post. This way, respective user's posts will be invisible for you. With other words, their suggestion of ignoring doesn't mean to bypass trolling posts by not taking them into account; it means to click the "Ignore" button. Regarding the suggestion to grow a thicker skin, you can read more here

Even good projects are getting spam and attacks like Idena some people just don't want a good project to move and if the developer creates a moderated thread people are quick to accuse the developer of hiding something, it's part of the forum activity, but those who tried to attack good project should be tagged.

Ignoring looks like good advice on paper but there some genuine grade A psychos who can fill a thread 24/7 to the extent that the entire thing grinds to a halt. Once someone develops an irrational grudge that can feed them to a limitless extent.
Self moderation can be an unappetising look and it would certainly reduce my trust and interest in the subject but sometimes it's the only way. I guess the best you can hope for is that you have enough genuine contributors to drown them out.
