The one you most likely joined is an osiris monarchy forum. This means that there are admins and mods to keep the forum in check. The other option when creating an osiris forum is an anarchy. This means that everyone is equal, and that the forum will be self-moderated through a reputation system. I would like to see how the osiris anarchy forum works out, so I would encourage you to join and post in the anarchy forum. The link is in my signature. I'll be waiting there!

There's not much documentation and the source isn't public, but it doesn't seem very anonymous or robust to me.

There is an svn web intereface here: http://www.osiris-sps.org/websvn_inline/ and the license.txt there states gplv3 though I haven't tried to download the source.

It will have all the source code on the v1.0 release, there are only 2 devs and they aren't getting any money from it ... so there are some things missing.
