The bold sentence is a big BS. There was even a protocol that offers zero fees for transaction that made on its protocol.
I remember when EOS and TRX have already claimed to be the next generation of smartcontract platforms too but they were not having a lot of differences with ethereum in term of the mechanism of smartcontract.
