Longer answer even if you get it to compile you are going to have other issues. Someone did a couple of years ago and still no-go. Check reddit, I think they were posting on there but I really don't remember.
The "controller" is just a Raspberry Pi. You can run a 1 or 2 or 3 overall the cost of getting one vs. the time and aggravation of getting it to work on Windows is not going to be worth it.
What would even be the benefit in this kind of a scenario?
Probably none, unless you have an old computer sitting around but don't have a Pi handy.
