What would be your advice, how to get covered by those portals? Sending email might be the best chance but not sure how effective that is.

The crypto news portal will get a lot of media coverage but it is more applicable to social media I think it gets Google Adsense approval and will never show up on social media without approval. You can easily search for crypto news portals by searching on Google where it has all the information.
