It's one of the "problems" that turned my away from GOD back then I was in rebellious state.
Then HE revealed to me few months ago what that means or signifies... It signifies that HE will send us HIS Son (JESUS) to die for our sin. That son represents the ram that was eventually sacrificed by Abraham. HE was never trying to sacrifice Abraham's son. HE is not a selfish GOD. HE leads by example thus provided HIS own son to be sacrificed in the future.

GOD hid that story (just like many others in old testament) in "cryptic" form on how he will save the world through his SON. I believe he hid it from the blind and for the future.

You can find the story here (Genesis 22): https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Genesis+22&version=NIV

Or listen to Audio "Book of Genesis" for the story:  https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=EiXQmeuHTOY&list=PLIxhnx0kb33ORn8RQgHH54rdJMmqaRfmd&index=2&t=0s

Cryptic or not it is the way of a Programmer of saying this is good and the bad for you Abram so I think it is better to believe than not at all. I don't mean we should be playing safe but by the hoping and having faith to live and preach the good news.

If I were Abraham, I would have said "F. U. Yahweh. I don't want your blessings. I'm not going to murder my son just to make you feel superior. That's pure evil.".

Let me ask you, if God ordered you to murder someone, why wouldn't you question your faith?

If the law demands that a dangerous criminal be destroyed, it will be lawless to violate that law. GOD is limitlessly more superior to any law. HE is the perfect JUDGE and knows what the dangerous criminal/criminals are capable of if they remain unchecked.

If HE asks me to destroy someone who will blow up our planet tommorow, I believe he will make me see reason why the evil person need to be destroyed. HE will never destroy the innocents. I have read in the Bible where people who disobeyed the order of the ALMIGHTY GOD to destroy evil people where tormented by evil they refused to destroy.

Abraham most likely knew he was being tested by GOD hence the use of the words "GOD will provide what we will use for the sacrifice" when confronted by his son. A holy man will hardly lie to people. So, he knew GOD will truely provide and never hurt an innocent child. It's against GOD's nature... compare to the devil.

You better, or eventually you'll run into the murdered person in Heaven.   That is going to be awkward...

By the way, assuming it's your job(empowered by the law) to kill, would you spare a dangerous criminal (who is hardened and very determined to destroy societies) if a judge/law compels you to kill the criminal?

I appreciate how you comprehended the scripture. To my understanding, it's all about the test of faith for Abraham.

I appreciate how you comprehended the scripture. To my understanding, it's all about the test of faith for Abraham.

The interpretation must be limited to a test of faith because the actual details demonstrate the evil and narcissistic natures of God, and we can't reconcile that.

It could also be all of these:

  • a test of loyalty -- Do what I say no matter how wrong it is.
  • a test of morality -- You were going to kill your son, an innocent person whom you love, without question. You obviously have no sense of good or evil.
  • a test of fear -- Genesis 22:12 “Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, ..."

If the law demands that a dangerous criminal be destroyed, it will be lawless to violate that law. GOD is limitlessly more superior to any law. HE is the perfect JUDGE and knows what the dangerous criminal/criminals are capable of if they remain unchecked.

But, Isaac was not a dangerous criminal. He was Abraham's innocent and beloved son.

If HE asks me to destroy someone who will blow up our planet tommorow, I believe he will make me see reason why the evil person need to be destroyed. HE will never destroy the innocents.

And if he tells you to kill all the infidels, or lock the doors of a mosque and burn it down with everyone inside, you would do that too?

HE will never destroy the innocents. I have read in the Bible where people who disobeyed the order of the ALMIGHTY GOD to destroy evil people where tormented by evil they refused to destroy.

No, he never brings plagues or fire down on innocent people, and he never kills everyone in a city because someone decided to dump the ark there.

Abraham most likely knew he was being tested by GOD hence the use of the words "GOD will provide what we will use for the sacrifice" when confronted by his son. A holy man will hardly lie to people.

But "mostly likely" isn't good enough because if he didn't know, you must change your interpretation completely. He told Isaac that God would provide a sacrifice because he had to lie to his son to get him to go along with it. If he told his son the truth, then how would the story have gone?

So, he knew GOD will ... never hurt an innocent child.

Oh? Exodus 12:29

Oh? Exodus 12:29

Quote

I told you before that GOD was merely testing Abraham. The test was also used to signify the future sacrifice of GOD's only begotten SON JESUS

Quote
And if he tells you to kill all the infidels, or lock the doors of a mosque and burn it down with everyone inside, you would do that too?
We are in the time of grace(but time is running out) so HE will likely not send me to kill sinners who don't know what they are doing. Sinners will have the chance to hear the gospel before HE fully judges the world HIMSELF. One of the things that provoke GOD to punish quickly is when you try to hurt his prophets or the innocents before their time.

Quote
No, he never brings plagues or fire down on innocent people, and he never kills everyone in a city because someone decided to dump the ark there
Do you have proofs they were "innocent people". GOD destroys evil and HE does not make mistakes. HE created everything and Knows all our secret thoughts and deeds. I will never question HIS judgment because HE is perfect. Sometimes I wonder why HE is so merciful to us despite the evil and wickedness everywhere.

Quote

GOD clearly tested abraham and he spoke through Abraham to his son isacc because HIS spirit was in Abraham. GOD would never have permitted him to lie to his son and sin against GOD. It's just very difficult to lie if you are truely led by spirit of GOD.

Quote
Oh? Exodus 12:29
Like I said before, GOD will never harm the innocents. Do you have proofs they were innocent? HE knows everything and currently watching our conversation.

Well, You may not understand what I am telling you. Alot of the understandings we get from reading the Word of GOD is from the Holy Spirit. You will hardly receive the gift if you are living in sin and your eyes are closed.
✳The gift is followed by regular/occasional flashes in your head. I am absolutely sure it's our FATHER in Heaven that is doing that.
You have to repent, believe in HIS son to receive the awesome gifts Smiley

Abrahamic religion and Christianity are connected too, old and the new testament to the lamb and the shepherd is the puzzle I am solving now. Yahuwah asked Abram to sacrifice his son Isaac in the old belief then in the new belief the Son sacrificed himself for the sake of mankind. Isn't it intriguing and enigmatic code of the message. If we asked for wisdom we will receive,
Now I understand how it was,
In the beginning, was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Good to see some thread related to the bible.

Well, in regard's to God instructing Abraham to kill & offer his ONLY as a sacrifice to him (GOD). This is just a test of faith.
You'll notice that GOd had already made a prevision for Abraham. So, it's just a test of faith.

*God never wanted Abraham to kill his only Child but, there comes a time in our life where we have to make a choice between what we belief to material thing's or loved one's.

Note : are organizing a group prayer section where we intercede for countries around the globe for a devine intervention. Anybody who is interested should get in contact with me via PM.

Thanks
