3 x antminer s3's
- 1320 GHS
- $300 for antminer's
- around $110 for PSU's
power consumption = 1050w

total invest = $410

1 x antminer s5
- 1155 GHS
- $340 for antminer
- around $65 for PSU
power consumption = 590w

total invest = $405

what do you think is better to invest in?

I would say a lot of it depends on your electricity price.

There is quite a bit of difference on efficiency. What is your electricity price?

Currently around .09c a kwh
I may be moving where it would be .07c a kwh

With current I would say go with the S5.  I'm not sure at .07 you might run some math over at bitwisdom, I'm guessing S5 off top of my head but I could be wrong.

everything under s5 now is pointless, you should look at efficiency(and with the summer coming it makes even more sense), s5 is more efficient than s3 or s1, no sense to buy those old miners, unless you have free electricity

or you can wait for s6-s7, they should come this summer unless bitcoin price tank too much

I would go S5 aswell. Im paying .04$ a kwh and considering investing in s5's atm, s3's are just not worth it in the long run.

sweet thanks for the suggestions guys. I will most likely now invest my money into s5's
I'm saving a bit though in case a new antminer comes out.

If you have extremely low electricity the S3 could make sense depending on price.  The S3's were just built like a tank I think they will be around for quite a while.
