Computer viruses are always there if you are not using antivirus you wouldn't know whether you have one, so it is really advisable to install anti-virus protection on our computer or even on some of our devices.
Here are some steps to get rid of computer viruses:1. Download and install a virus scanner - Download a virus scanner or complete internet security solution, it keeps an eye on all the files that enter your system.
2. Disconnect from internet - if you are removing virus on your computer, you should disconnect first the internet, most of the virus came from the internet.
3. Reboot your computer into safe mode - you should reboot your computer in safe mode when removing the virus.
Here are some steps to make it safe mode:1. Turn your computer off and on again
2. When the screen lights, press F8 to bring up the ‘Advanced boot options’ menu
3. Click ‘Safe Mode with Networking’
4. Remain disconnected from the internet
4. Delete any temporary files - use Disk clean up to delete any temporary files.
Here's how to do this:1. Click the Windows logo on the right bottom
2. Type “Temporary Files”
3. Choose “Free up disk space by deleting unnecessary files”
4. Find and select “Temporary Internet Files” in the ‘Files to delete’ Disk Cleanup list and click OK
5. Confirm “Delete Files” selection
5. Run a virus scan - Now it is time to run a virus scan using your chosen anti-virus or internet security software, the anti virus is really important to choose the best antivirus if you can.
6. Delete or quarantine the virus - If a virus is found, it may affect multiple files. Select ‘Delete’ or ‘Quarantine’ to remove the file(s) and get rid of the virus. Rescan your computer to check there are no further threats. If threats are found, quarantine or delete the files.
7. Reboot your computer - now, if you think that the virus has deleted, you can reboot your computer. Simply turn it on as you would normally. It no longer needs to be in ‘Safe Mode’.
8. Update your software, browser, and operating system - this is the very important thing, we should always update our software as well as the operating system, hose outdated software leads on having a virus.
