MoparMiningLLC has joined the forum on December 2017. He has custom title but I can not see VIP rank or a staff rank on his profile. How is he using custom title? Or theymos has given him special permission?

aren't VIP titles can be optionally put to be visible just like the copper membership title? at least that what I know. I might be wrong though

Most likely they are given special permission. Not only him, you can also seen others with custom title with no VIP position like BitcoinPenny and minerjones, these guys are running a good business and services, these might be a reward theymos gave to them for countless trust for their services. Not sure though, but likely the reason.

Maybe not sure though, but even they disable it like copper membership. You can still recognize them based on the shiny coin on under their name.

May be possible but at the beginning of the post, I startes with the registration date of the said user. He registered on late 2017 and I doubt anyone would pay 50 BTC to get the VIP rank on this forum. That's why I am confused. I do not any other reason to give such privileges other than the case of Bruno.

Besides two users named above, Lauda is another one with a custom title. Regarding to your statement, I don't see anything wrong with a custom titles for some users. If theymos feels right (no potential compromises) he has his rights to give them a custom title and theymos can take those custom titles down instantly when he want.

Custom titles, username change, there is nothing wrong with them, as I see.

I don't think the OP has a problem with it. as I see it the OP is more like curious and just want to know how they were able to have a custom title without being a VIP member. I also remember Lauda having a "Grumpy kitty" custom title not sure why he removed. it looks good on his profile while being savage to other forum members.

EDIT: just found this thread Users with Custom Title. according to this thread, you can have a custom title if you donated 50btc or become a Global moderator or an admin but "you don't necessarily have to donate or become a global moderator or an admin to have a custom title and you can just ask theymos nicely."(according to one commenter on the thread)

If I had to guess I would say you have to a) be a respectable, long standing member, and b) ask nicely

This right here or donate to the forum.

My guess MoparMiningLLC asked for it to theymos so he can get a custom title. Not so long ago other members asked for a change of their usernames and I will not be awed if more and more trusted and reputable members could have it besides they have contributed to the forum.

very simple. My forum name was "Stryfe" which was registered in Dec 2017, I simply put in a request to have my forum name changed to match my company name without having to create a new account as I do provide escrow and reshipping services and did not want to create a new account because of this. Mopar Mining, LLC is a registered LLC in the state of Florida - My EIN is listed below my Avatar - I have also purchased land and am working towards building a facility where I can offer co-location services for miners as well as hosting my own miners. It is going slow - partially due to all this COVID-19 stuff and because I am not a rich man either lol

Anyways, I submitted the request and it was reviewed and approved - I did have any expectation or guarantee that they would do it but figured there was no harm in asking. The aka Stryfe is simply to allow people who knew me as "Stryfe" to validate that I am still the same person.

@MoparMiningLLC: is your Custom Title fixed, or can you edit it yourself?

In case the user can still edit it: theymos, while you're granting wishes, can I have one? Cheesy

VIP or not the guy deserves his custom name. I enjoying every time we meet at the unofficial bitcointalk discord server. This is a good reward for a one of the first users joining the server Smiley

@LoyceV, you need to ask for this somewhere else  Wink
