2000w PSU NOISE

Dear all,

Im planing to buy one used mining rig with 2000w supply for 8x 470GPU cards.
Noise of it is kinda loud. I was already suggested in another topic that i could replace to 2x psu or 1psu maybe 1300W or 1500W.

What do you think is is possible to isolate the psu with some kind of boxed sound isulation or this is not safe?

Yes it's safe to use a soundproof box, you can also cover the acoustic foams with thermal aluminum foil foams which will improve the security but not only.

as for sound proofing your gpu will make quite a bit of noise unless you down clock them.

so have you heard the rig ?

and when rig is running are the gpu's kind of loud and the psu crazy stupid loud?

There are some sound proofed rigs in the alt coin mining section.
