I get a crash report every time I start electrum for android, has there been a new update or something or have I fiddled with too many things again and need to reinstall it.

I'm fine reinstalling it but I'm not sure what wallets I had so might have to find a way to extract the data (all the seeds are backed up anyway)... So does anyone have a way of me trying to fix this without reinstalling (maybe there's a way to keep data but reinstall the app - I installed a different version on a different user account on the phone and thought it would be fine - which is what caused the problem...)

When I check to see the details of the log also it is completely empty.

Did you installed v4.0.0b1/b0 for arm-v8a to a arm-v7a phone?

How about install-over the other version to your current version without uninstalling it?
That won't delete the data but will only update your wallet files in case it successfully launched.

Is your phone rooted? If it is, you can find the Electrum wallet files in the /data/data/org.electrum.electrum directory and manually extract them/back them up from there.

If it isn't rooted, then you should be able to back up the entire directory using the Android Software Development Kit with your phone connected to your computer. Have a look at this Stack Overflow post for more instructions: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/13006315/how-to-access-data-data-folder-in-android-device. However, I don't think you will be able to write your backed up wallet files back to your phone after your fresh install without root access.

Have you tried uninstalling the different version on the different user account and just running the original version again?

Why would I do that Wink - didn't realise v8 was different oops 🤣 explains why it didn't work though lol...

Yeah I just reinstalled it, should've tried fiddling more with the coach first to see if that did anything though.
