I see politics in Nigeria as a high-stake, dirty, useless, brutal, corrupt game marked by intense competition, often accompanied by violence, corruption and insecurity.
The country's electoral process has been marred by manipulations, religious tensions, ethnic tensions, which has led to a climate of fear and mistrust among citizens.
The game also weakens our national institutions such as the judiciary, INEC, the security agencies, education etc.
The game also influence and encourage embezzlement, greed and selfishness. It also encourages clannishness, nepotism and cronyism. What this means is that, whoever gets to the top, he/she would want to empower someone from his/her clan (clannishness), or friends/relatives (nepotism), or friends/relatives without regards for their qualifications (cronyism). That's the Nigeria we're in and it's killing the country.

It is unfortunate that this is our sad reality as Nigerians, and is it most unfortunate that there is literally nothing anybody is seeming to do about it. Nigerians always advocate for good governance to any of the leaders in power, but when they get to power they neglect The aspiration and yearnings of the people, it is after when they've lost power they will come back to their senses in realizing the mistake they've done, a very good example is those of them that where leaders in the last administration, today some of them are in opposition with the current government and yet they want that same Nigerians that they couldn't fight for to help and fight the current administration, of course it will not work, the citizens are tired already.

In Nigeria we all seek for good governance but at the end is government with empty promises made without accomplishing any , imagine how they will promise citizens for good water and health care facilities but in our government hospitals today there is no facilities ,rather they use it to establish their own. In a situation where they were ones we call leader are meant to serve us but they rather serve their self turning the public service into their own personal gain or interest. The government will not feel the hardship, but you see the real victims here are the citizens who keep their hopes high and at the end of the day they lose faith on them because it's now something normal that the government will promise when seeking for power but when they gain it they use it to establish themselves. You see this corruption is something that kills hopes especially when you're looking up to someone for something then all of a sudden the person didn't do as promised it's a painful experience, and when the hopes you have suddenly dies Omo the progress also slows down but with honesty things might change .

Corruption they say never originated from a single activity but from multiple sources which includes politics, religious, mindset and so on but had its taproot in political activities. Politics is recognized as the mother of corruption because without the introduction of corruption in political activities, rigging won't have been made possible at all time. Most countries political representatives where selected into political offices by a different methods that is extremely different from election which is widely accepted or recognized and can not be questioned by the citizens where is to be represented.

In Nigeria corruption is the other of the day, politicians keeps gambling with us all day long, during campaigns they will promise us heaven on earth and possibly buy votes but after they win, they turn their backs on us and keeps looting our funds. Instead of empowering the Youths they buy them guns to terrorize other political opponents, they keep traveling to foreign countries to save the money they have looted from our treasury here, leaving the masses in perpetuity poverty and hunger. Politics is the first institution of bribery and corruption, it's like the headquarter. You hardly get a good job in our country without being connected by one or two political God fathers. God fatherism is of the increase in our society and without having one you can't really survive. Nigerian politics is too dirty, useless, aimless, and too manipulative. It can only takes the grace of God for us to have a good leader that will bring revolution to the system like in the case of Burkina faso.

The worst part about the corruption in nigeria politics is that many young people now see politics as a way to "get rich quick" instead of it as an avenue to render service to there country, is now about personal gain, power and political status.

Corruption in politics today is beyond imagination, imagine we claim to be independent and our politicians are still ruling like military rule. Recently I read on social media when citizen critised one Governor for spending lavishly, the next thing we saw is those youths have been arrested due to cybercrime, what we failed to understand now is that they turned the citizens as illetrate, cybercrime is different from critised, they were looking for crime to label him with and see nothing rather to be addressed has cybercrime.
No more freedom of speech anymore, they always wanted to be praise even if they are wrong rather to be critise. Another corruption that is commonly in politics today is that if you are not in ruling party your allocation will be less than that of ruling party.

The truth is that, there has never been any free and fair election in the history of Nigeria, because of this the politicians themselves use to hunt one another and aspire for political positions with despirasy, they even value that position they are aspiring for than the life of the citizens, and that is the more reason why some of them go extra mile to get that position, even if it will take human life or even the lives of the citizens for them to be there, they don't care and this is nothing but share wickedness. Our politicians are so corrupt that they don't care about the citizens of the country, and what is the essence of power when there is no peace in the country, there is no quality education for the citizens and the people are facing hunger and starvation, the only thing they think of is to enrich themselves the more and cart away with our money to go and invest it outside the country where the citizens of other country will enjoy them, and is very shameful of our politicians and leaders of this great nation Nigeria. There is one evil that Nigeria politicians are doing to the youths, any time they want to aspire for any position, they will use the youths to get what they want, but immediately they assume that office they discard the youths, they feel they put themselves in that position, this is an act of wickedness.

Nigerian politics and corruption are synonymous. It has become a thing that to be a politician in Nigeria, you must be corrupt, because it's already part of the system. Nigeria is such a corrupt country that sometimes I don't even believe that it can ever get better. All our leaders thinks about is how to embezzle public fund and make themselves and family richer not thinking of how to improve the lives of its citizens. They never do anything to develop the country or to make good policies to better the lives for its citizens. Nigeria is just in mess and the politicians are making it worse with their corruption.

Nigeria's political system is the bedroom for corruption which nothing can be done to Savage the situation. Nigeria is a country blessed with rich mineral resources but mismanaged as a result of corrupt political structure and representatives who's focus and dreams are channelled towards building self wealth and never recognize the poor masses at large, all this are archived through the corrupt political structure. The political system is designed to help them archive the dreams without been questioned even from the judiciary and other arms of government. So talking about corruption in the political system, creating room for the system is the greatest mistake made from onset which nothing can be done about it now

It's not only in Nigeria that we have corrupt politicians, we have them in other African countries, and they all have the same approach to politics to always bring in the people they know or are close to them to hand over political power to them. So, they will indirectly be in a position to get some percentage returns of contracts awarded to their person, who they left to take over from them as a past government official. Failure to bring in returns, unwarranted problems are invited to the person's government. That's why African countries find it hard to grow because of the level of fatherism in the country, weighing down and controlling the efforts of an elected political candidate for an office. That brings me to the conclusion to say that African politicians as a whole are greedy, self-centered, heartless, inhuman, and evil. They don't mind soiling their hands with blood to attain any political position they desire. They can go extreme.

Everything you have just written and explained here in your write up about Nigeria politics is absolutely correct 💯. Nigerian politics is the most corrupt one and we are even ranked the second most corrupt country in the world, imagine a country where we have crude oil and other materials yet we still import Petroleum from overseas, what happens to setting up refineries that will refine those products, it would have helped in a way of reducing youths reactiveness and the tension in the country. The electoral process is being hijacked by any president in power as at during the second tenure, so every vote is being bought, Nigeria politicians have sold their conscience they don't feel the suffering of the masses, once they attain the political position they envisioned them it's over and they left their supporters in adject poverty.

The politics in Nigeria are moving or working hand in hand by corruption, it just seems like competition to me, because after we've voted for a particular candidate to help us and change the nation for our own comfortability, since the previous one has been corrupt, they will still repeat the same thing as if there are continuous corruption books in their office. The electoral processes in Nigeria is deeply full of manipulation, and the most painful part is that we, the citizens of this country, always vote for these our leaders with emotions. That's why whenever they fail to deliver their duties, we feel so sad and wonder if they will ever be a good candidate again, especially for the presidential position. Nevertheless, since one's plans don't work as we expected, as Nigerians we easily concluded everything or leave everything in God's hand, with this we will continue praying for them and also pray that Nigeria will be better than before.

Politics itself is a game of power, but in Nigeria na battlefield of personal interests instead of platform for progress. The word 'politics' isn’t supposed to be dirty by nature; it’s supposed to be about leadership, vision, and service. But the way it’s practiced here has made many young people lose faith in governance entirely especially me. The real problem is not just politics as a system, but the people and the mindset driving it. Once power becomes a means of survival instead of responsibility, corruption and greed automatically take over. Instead of building the nation, everyone starts building their own corner, their family, their tribe, or their pocket. That’s why we see nepotism, clannishness, and cronyism everywhere you look in Nigeria The truth is, until politics in Nigeria stops being about who gets what and starts being about how we can all move forward, omo the system will continue to fail. The citizens themselves also need to change their approach, we can’t keep selling votes or celebrating politicians who only enrich themselves.... unfortunately, we know Nigeria’s political game will remain as toxic as it is today because everybody want their 'turn'

The only way this corruption can be eliminate from Nigerian politics is through revolution in the country, there are some law that is backing some corrupt leaders not to spend the rest of their life's in prison because they are entitled to hire lawyer to defend them in the court, I know one day this corruption will be a thing of the past in the land, majority of Nigerian citizens have wake up from their sleep to begin to expose some corrupt politicians in the country, I believe you witness what happened in 2023 general election that make people to come out in masses to vote for good government, but the results was manipulated.

Politics in Nigeria has always been corrupt from the unset and I don't see it changing any time soon. The politicians really don't care about the citizens, but rather they only care about themselves and their pockets and this has been a major issue in Nigeria. This politician are ready to do anything to get in power even if it takes for them to kill a whole community. They rig the election just to get in power and don't care about our vote. The most annoying thing is how some citizens still support this politician and are ready to kill if you try to criticize what they are doing. Sometimes I begin to think we deserve this kind of politician, because the citizens are not doing anything to stop it, rather they support them.
