I think ignorance is not the main reason why people get scam or hack because greed is the main reason why they get easily scammed that all they think is to earn money easily, which there is no such thing that earning money would be easy. Even there are scam projects that are too good to believe, they still fall into it that they don't think the consequences before they engage in scam projects or other illegal schemes.

One of the worst crime one can commit against one's self is to be ignorant on the path you choose to walk and yet you fail to research or ask questions as you journey ahead. I really don't think it's greed per se that makes people partake in ICO. In the past I did a lot (and so were many others) because I felt those ICOs had meaningful projects and would follow their roadmaps and WHs. But now we know better. Even till date, there are lots of people who innocently still think the way I thought a few years ago. So, basically it's ignorance on this point and not greed.

They are the one who can determine which is the right and which is the wrong, they can learn how to determine between the fake and legit, it is on their own decision if they will maximize their ability to become aware about how scams and hacks occur.
