you need to move to altcoins section not bitcoins section.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0

if you have cheap power use antminer L7 and merge mine Ltc/Doge

use viabtc pool.

nice you moved it.

I am a big fan of the Antminer L7 units.  do you have 240 volt power and a 30 amp line.

do you have cheap power.

yes but it is costly. (L7)

you could try to get a L3 on ebay it is pretty cheap.

the s3 will only do btc sha 256

this is a decent deal on ebay

https://www.ebay.com/itm/204357571884?

the l3 can help you learn mining it is not super loud and it is not super hot.

Not really at school unless you want to get caught as most probably they a network administrator there or a system administrator which would most probably notice the mining if you do it in a school computer.

The price of L3+ is really cheap but when I see the profitability it is in big red as it only produces some only a bit more than 0.011 Litecoin in 30 days which is 1 dollar and that is terribly bad. There are better ways to learn mining in my opinion, you can try with raptoreum in your home PC which any processor support it starting from core i5 2nd generation.

You can’t make any money with that way, that’s pretty much cpu mining and unless your school has some powerful AMD processors to mine Monero, it’s not worth the hassle. Plus you will get in trouble if you do this since you are not allowed to mine on school equipment.

This maybe would of worked back in 2010 with BTC right before the GPU miners were launched but cpu mining has hardly been profitable for anything. Usually a GPU miner is released right away and it just dies off.

Unless the answer to both is yes, don't bother. Scrypt, as are all ASIC algos, is dominated by large mining farms that have lots of cheap power.
It's so competitive that power cost make the difference between profit & loss. High power cost makes it almost impossible to mine at
a profit.

Can I mine DOGE coins with Antminer L7 units? I have got access to subsidized electricity 12 hours a day. Can I make profits with that?

I can give you a referral code if you pm me.
