PM Shortcut

I just came across a short cut to private messaging users on the forum, not sure if it has been posted before.
Rather than going to the user's profile to select the send this member a personal message option, you can click on the green icon which indicates the user is online;


• You would automatically be directed to the users' PM page and save a click;


The icon is only visible beside posts made by the user, when they are online. It can also be toggled off/on in; Account Related Settings > Show others your online status?

Or by simply clicking the message icon under the avatar. There are three options under the avatar (visible when you post somewhere). The right side one is a direct link of sending user a private message.

Now I am finding this more interesting. A private msg can actually help in making more enquiries rather than asking a public message when it not required

Some members have restrictions on PM from newbies so if you don't have troubles to ask publicly, don't go with PMs. They choose the restriction because some of newbies are scammers and they send multiple annoying PMs to older members just to try their advertisements or try to scam as many victims as possible.

Profile > Personal Message Options > Allow newbies to send you PMs. (you can check your profile too).

Yes, I've done it several times and also the way shown by: @bitbollo, direct.

Of course that applies to members who (Online).

What if there are other options, directly to the user's profile, you don't need to click on the username.
For example;
Just press the person>or<bald head.



Immediately enter the user profile visible.



This option, perhaps, to speed up to the profile, without having to press the name. have you ever done it ...!

I knew of this one and the default message shortcut as both have corresponding images which describes their function. The one which I highlighted however isn't descriptive and it isn't obvious that it's a link (I actually discovered it inadvertently while browsing through the forum) which makes it a bit more unique than the other shortcuts. I wonder how many of such hidden features we have on the forum.
