Long-term investor here, hodling and accumulating slowly since a few years.

Good news since SC ruling, I can see more volumes on P2P sites but they've gone downhill - the KYC has now become too intrusive. Forget the companies trusting us, can we trust these companies in remote parts of the world with every one of our docs, IT details and janam-patri?! And reading the stories of P2P accounts getting blocked for no clear reason on here, Reddit, etc is not helping.

The main feature of P2P we need to do direct trades is I think Escrow. There used to be some users on this forum long ago offering this IIRC.

What's the best services for crypto escrow right now? (India-centric preferably).

Thanks guys.

You raise some fair concerns about the industry in general. Besides the KYC angle, crypto in general is full of shady people / companies who will exit scam when they feel a little pressure.

You can contact some trusted escrow providers here - https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=2439910.0

You can use the forum's trusted members as escrow for your p2p transactions but it is going to take lot of time and expensive fees compared to that KYC required trading platforms.Or else you can use Bisq and Localcryptos like p2p platform which doesn't need KYC verification.

Localcryptos FAQ says it may need to 'collect and verify the identities...' - do they have lesser KYC requirements than other P2P sites? (compared to LB and Pax)? Thanks.

LBC and Paxful made it as mandatory to trade on their platform but on Localcryptos that is not the case, maybe they will ask data if terms of the trader needs it or else it is still KYC less trading platform. In case of dispute between a trade also may need your personal details to verify the transaction status and identify scammers.

Almost zero trading volume when I visited Bisq last time and I don't have enough patience to wait for months to sell few INR worth of bitcoin so myself decided not to trade there until there is enough trading volume. I hope in future we can see more people on Bisq.

Have you tried Binance P2P in INR?

I mean it needs your KYC; but then what choice do you have. It is better to give your KYC to one exchange with good volume than to give to 10 others.
