There are a lot of networks vying for attention at the same time. While things like Cosmos, Polkadot, even MATIC are desperately trying to gain a portion of the pie, ETH itself is moving to Proof of Stake. I think all of these various versions of PoS and non-PoW chains essentially miss the real characteristics of blockchain. DPoS or PoS can never be decentralized and there will always be the chance for some centralized party to arise and then disputes leading to overall breakdown. Just see what happened to EOS.

Also, now that we are discussing Alts, why do you think MATIC is any better than the dozen others out in the market?

Matic network fail to build on its initial hype and I don't see how it is going to compete now that we have many scaling solutions in the space, another issue with Matic now is the new influx of tokens being released into the market, I was told 2 billion tokens was related recently and some of these is going to dump on the market, for now I  am not bullish on the project

+1 because i did always believe that POS can't assume fair decentralisation and that the network can be somehow manupilated in a way or another.

I share the opinion that Matic or any other alt or even ethereum as a classic player can't be better than the dozen others out in the market. This is why i share also the idea that Matic or all the rest are just trying to gain a portion of the pie.

There are great technologies such as EOS, ADA or XLM.

But if they don't have enough acceptance among the crypto community they couldn't be like eth.

But the outlook is not bad for any crypto. Since they far outweigh the FIAT money ...

Even though there are some points that I see right for comments, matic  is not hostile to ethereum. It is an auxiliary project that makes it better. matic and ethereum combination alone is enough to dominate the market.

Scalability means nothing right now. It's only helping people to get the cheap fees but the main question should what about the complexity of platform? can it be used like what ethereum did before?
There are so many ethereum holders and mostly defil build in ethereum platform too.
Ethereum 2.0 will make these defi can operated perfectly without feeling worried about the tx fees. It's worth to be waited by us.

There is lot of such noise everywhere. People in the Alt space say and believe crap like this and then expect people to believe them. You say "Great technologies like EOS". How is EOS great? Block.one raise 4 fucking Billion dollars without delivering a single line of code. They put forth a ridiculous constitution and completely let cartels take over the whole DPoS thing. How did they arrive at 21 nodes? Nobody knows. Technology wise, when they finally released the whole jamboree voted to increase the total supply.

The outlook is bad for every single crypto that has no use case. ETH has found a use case in making ERC-20 tokens which in turn have not found a use case themselves. The importance of ETH will diminish with more of these newer projects vying for the market share. The whole Alt-space is currently just disorganized, scammy and unaccountable. Till these things change, the newcomers can continue to risk and make money.

Yes, in fact, the Matic team has been contributing to the Ethereum ecosystem long before the formation of Matic Network and their IEO on Binance in April 2019. This includes working on implementations of Plasma MVP, the WalletConnect protocol (which allows users to access DApps in a secure and user-friendly way), and the widely-used Dagger event notification engine.

I kind of agree with this one. Ethereum is gonna be massive after 2.0 update where it will become uneatable when it comes to scaling.
