I don't think that will work and that Congress will take that seriously. Also, I don't believe that US has actuall intention to reduce the national debt.
But at least that senator has some kind of vision that might come into force some time in the future but I don't think this is going to happen now.

Indeed.

Besides, if only one senator is interested in cryptocurrency, it might be hard for her to convince the remaining senators to agree with her plan. Also, this could escalate quickly in case they came up with a plan regarding Bitcoin to be use to reduce national debt, like they could use it in something evil like corruption and other political issues nowadays.

But yes, it ain't that bad if one senator could persuade other senators with her plan and only use it for good purposes only, then why not?

If nothing else, someone believes the capability of bitcoin. Not many politicians are openly supporting bitcoin or crypto. Because if a person is knowledgeable how crypto works, the chance of endorsing it to his colleagues is really high. And this Senator, I think, knows how to transact btc at least.
Same thought, at least the senator in question has some understanding of this technology if not she won't be talking about Bitcoin which many of them think to be a complex technology. Basically, in the nearest future if not now; we are going to experience more good things from the world government by the risen of some positive talk from prominent individuals like this.
