I am looking for a Electrum like wallet for USDC or USDT (preferably USDC). I need it to be fully open source and be installed locally on my computer - as opposed to being online or linked to an account.

I can't find an electrum type of wallet for those stable coins.

But both hardware wallets of Trezor and Ledger are good wallets for these coins.

I just learnt something very basic. USDC and USDT (and any ERC20 token) can be stored in any wallet that accepts Electrum. So, MyEtherWallet is apparently the closest to Electrum in the Etherum world, although it is completely browser based.

I have no idea about open-source local USDC or USDT wallets and haven't used them. you'll try employing a hardware wallet or coinbase crypto wallet may be a tool you'll use to interact with blockchain networks. There are differing types of crypto wallets crypto software wallet hardware wallet and paper wallet these are very reliable and their use is far more. Hardware wallets act as open source.

There are other protocols for USDT. It isn't only ERC20. There's also the following;

USDT-TRON

USDT-Omni

When you say open source, what do you mean? Do you mean you are a developer and you're looking for an open source Electrum type of wallet to fork? Else you can hold USDT or USDC in any wallet you're holding it keys, irrespective of the chain.
