There are a few altcoins (especially those that use the Scrypt algorithm) that have value on exchanges. Some of these have no mining pools. I would like to solo mine them. But when I download the wallet and point my miner at it, it doesn't work. I downloaded a mining proxy, but it seems to solve the opposite problem - it allows getwork miners to connect to a stratum server. I need a way for my stratum miner to connect to a getwork wallet. Is there a way to do this? For a concrete example, can someone give me step-by-step instructions for solo mining Einsteinium with an Antminer L3+, without going through a 3rd party pool?

If you mean scrypt mining?

I send you this tool where you can find several alternatives: https://whattomine.com/asic

With this tool you will not only find the alternatives, you will also find the ROI, mining calculator.

As well as the best pools to mine and wallet.

I hope they serve you ...

He asking if anyone knows the problem.

And you give him, a website mining calculator ~LOL. If you don't know to answer of his question, not really post and let the post until someone help him about the problem. For the @OP better you asking on "Mining" board so you can get some answer with the topic you are asking.

What miner are you using for mining scrypt algorithm? And why solo mine? Scrypt miners varies meaning they are better than each other, you will have to do research on this and try it out yourself, I don't mine scrypt algorithm because of this headache, don't try using CPU and GPU, it's a complete waste of time, the best scrypt miners are asic miners

I don't know much about scrypt mining but I do know that they are better with asic miners, it's same algo that Litecoin uses, you can't mine this algo with GPU because of high difficulty, it's a waste of electricity and time,  kindly move this post to mining section of this forum for better answers here. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0

The only solo mining for Einsteinium coin is using minergate to mine with either your PC or graphic cards or even smartphones, you don't have to configure any miner or whatsoever, all you need is to drop your wallet address in minergate dashboard and click start, if you are using high end smartphones you can download minergate app on your phone and mine too but that's not going to give any high hash rates, Minergate is the perfect solo mining for Einsteinium, goodluck

What? Mining scrypt algorithm on mobile phone will kill your smartphone because it will generates high heat and burn your phone do not try this, you can only mine with processor or graphics card and again the rewards won't be good enough because asic miners are the best option to mine scrypt coins nowadays, to me it's a waste of time

Sorry never of these coins. Also they have mining section you probably get help faster there.

I am using an Antminer L3++, which is an ASIC. I currently am mining on a auto-switching multipool, but it barely covers the cost of my electricity. There are some coins, though, that I cannot find working pools for. Some of those coins have low difficulty, and are listed on exchanges. I would like to mine them whenever they are profitable, if possible. The problem is that my miner will only connect via stratum, and the wallets for these coins will only accept getwork miners. I could set up a virtual machine with an old version of mpos, I guess. But that seems like overkill. All I need is a way for my stratum miner to connect to a getwork wallet.
