A new blockchain idea is being constructed in order to provide solutions to some usability problems on blockchain-based assets.

As a proposed solution, Foundation for Interwallet Operability (FIO)  Protocol is being proposed. It is described as an open source blockchain protocol that intends to provide improved usability features for wallets and exchange platforms.

Looks like OP didn't listen to you, Vod... Cheesy

However, in the meantime this FIO Protocol is supported by quite a lot of "Fio Members", as there are: Coinomi, Bitcoin.com, Enjin Wallet, Shapeshift etc. And of course, it's a wallet-related concept, so in a way, it also involves BTC.

OP posted this almost a year ago, but since then, it seems no other threads where opened on these boards about the Fio Foundation - much to my surprise.

https://fio.foundation/

The video on the website is quite childish ("oh my god these long crypto addresses are so scary"), but the concept of "replacing" your wallet address by an easy-to-remember protocol, seems interesting. I see some similarities with the relationship between a website's domain name and its "invisible" IP address.

I need to read more before I decide if I'd want a FIO address, but I think this project at least deserves our attention.

good coin, you can forget about long addresses and private keys, you can login to the Edge wallet by login, password and pin, the combination gives the same reliability as a private key

for different coins the same address and short

and the wallet can work even without servers
