Hello all quick question,
upon installation of bitcoin core the wallet file is created already even though the blockchain hasnt synced yet, correct?
the reason im asking is i was asked to provide an example wallet.dat file to data recovery professionals who are looking into my ssd to possibly recover lost coins from 2014.
i downloaded bitcoincore and backed up the wallet file without waiting for the entire blockchain to sync. that wallet file should have public and private keys on it upon creation/installation of bitcoin core, correct?
also were wallet files always 1.3mb?? i couldve sworn they were alot smaller years ago...
