Indeed, you are a lucky person who knows and believes Bitcoin despite rumors and FUDs. And I feel regrets those people just skip to know bitcoin and ignore this opportunity because we can't certainly get back from where we started and from that below $1 trading in the market.

So it has been 12 long years that bitcoin has existed and reigned on top unfailingly in the crypto world. Imagine how low the valueless bitcoin was before and its astonishing value right now. Only if we were able to predict that bitcoin would be this big, we're surely millionaires or billionaires already right now. Who would have thought that the once trading at $0.0008  would turn into a $33k+ currency after 12 years?  I remember reading a story about a certain office people exchanging Bitcoin as gifts, and faucets giving away a whole BTC and yet no one is minding them because of the current value of BTC during those times.  Anyway, it's been a successful 12 years for BTC and I hope the uptrend continues!  More adoption and a bigger community to come.  I hope the governments will welcome you with open arms this time.

On 3rd January 2009, the bitcoin network came in to existence with Satoshi Nakamoto mining the genesis block of bitcoin (Block Number 0) which had a reward of 50 BTC. It started trading from around $0.0008 and today is worth $33000+

Really i am fully surprised with this picture and graph also. Now i am in broken mind that why i did now know about btc at early stage and also why i have seen BTC in 2017 when BTC rate was 19k$. Know body knows where it will go in near future but as a btc lover i wish for better days of BTC in future.

Yeah Right. It is so exciting to think that bitcoin might reached another milestones or new achievements on its availability and existence. Bitcoin experience a lot of different kinds of ups and down as well as it puts in a lot of difficult situations yet it able to overcome each of it and became one of the best coin in the market. 12 years of existence means of 12 year long of risky ride but definitely worth it time of earnings. I think this 12th year of bitcoin proves that it will still reign in the next months or years and definitely become one of the greatest or even best. Congrats Bitcoin!

I believe the genesis block was only launched 12 years ago, whoever Satoshi was/is he probably might have seen the future years before he decided to bake such a precious gem which has resharpen the whole of modern world technology. banking, economy and the job industry. Happy birthday BTC

Can't even imagine how days passed that too 12years, if you look back after a decade BTC is nothing I mean people were busy spreading it as a scam and now it turned out to be a hot topic. Even I was not aware of BTC at that moment and I didn't trusted it i want to thank my loyal friend who forced me to invest in this and now I have been addicted to it. Isn't the genesis block the first block? I guess you were referring to #1 block which is the 2nd block of bitcoin blockchain. Genesis block = 0 doesn't mean that it's not the first block. As you can see the definition here-

Genesis Block is the name of the first block of Bitcoin ever mined.

OK.. so that would mean that Bitcoin was first mined on 3rd January 2009? Block number 0 is having a timestamp of 2009-01-03 23:45. And the next block (Block #1) is having a timestamp of 2009-01-09 08:24.

So the OP is indeed correct and we celebrated the 12th birthday of Bitcoin on 3rd January. @rdbase, you were wrong mate. BTW, even I was confused for a while. I was thinking that Block #1 was the first block that was mined.
