Esports is virtual sport. For many young people, it has entirely replaced the typical football or basketball endeavours and instead they focus on developing a career in playing computer games. At first this might sound crazy, but esports is actually a viable industry with lots of chances to get famous and actually earn a living. So what is esports?

According to the Cambridge Dictionary, esports is “the activity of playing computer games against other people on the internet, often for money, and often watched by other people using the internet, sometimes at special organized events”. This of course only scratches the surface of the matter. Esports is a competition that brings people from all over the world and from all walks of life together. Tournaments are (mostly) gender-neutral and offer far more opportunities for people with disabilities to compete alongside able people.

Gone are days when the parents will blame their kids for playing video games when they became tardy in school and get low grades. Esports is a billion-dollar industry and it just keeps on growing.

I'm a gamer since I was a kid from Nintendo and other consoles up to this point. I have seen that in esports, a lot of dreams become true and it's really a serious career to be considered.

Agreed mate,as long as we are monitoring our children's game and activities over online gaming.

Because being a Parent i need to be updated regarding the games they are playing and the attitude they are bringing playing that game.

Because there are games now that can encourage our children in wrong path so we must be monitoring in this part.

I grew up my parents allowed me to play computer games from those consoles up to PC games. They have supported me and I'm thankful with that.

But I've seen other children struggle whether they want to play games, their parents shall say the same thing as I've said. They'll get nothing from it and it's true in the past but this time, they'll be proud if their children grew up and become a pro player.

If your kids have the talent, a parent should encourage and support them to their fullest potential. There are priorities like studies, of course, aside from maybe music, art, sports or esports for that matter. But the main idea is to support whatever interest and/or talent your kids might have, in order for them to find out for themselves what they really want to do and what they're really good at, in their life.

Yes.

There's still a balance with studies. Parents can't simply let their kids do what they want, they can support but not compromising the studies. It's still the priority that they should push for their kids regardless that their kid is starting to build up a career through esports.

E-sports is a wing of multiplayer gaming. But there is a number of places, games and ways to play the games.large scale e-sport playing games all the time by their homes on internet
You can basically play computer games that are categorized as esports in the comforts of your home. But you can also play it everywhere as long as there's an accessible internet and you have a good gaming laptop.

It's a real career and if you'll take time to search, there are esports professional gamers that have earned millions of dollars from their respective games/genre.

That is quite questionable from esports perspective even though you're right from parent's point of view.
Most of current top players have invested tons of hours into the game and by that I mean 7-12 hours per day straight gaming.
So if we imply that one kid is playing hard like this and still manage to get decent grades at school - is it fine with you as a parent or not?

That's absolute fine for me if I'm the parent of that kid.

The skill is on the kid and he's starting to manage his time in studying and gaming very well. It's a very encouraging thing to see being a parent if our child is like that.

What kind of parent doesn't want to have a kid like that?

In short, e-sports aka electronic sports is basically a video game tournament these tournaments are held in different countries of the world including India and are attended by professional gamers most of these tournaments are multiplayer. There are basically three types of games played in e-sports tournaments - Real Time Strategy (RTS) First Person Shooter (FPS) and Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA). There are also various fighting and arcade games played in some gaming tournaments for amateurs.

There are also tournaments on this genre and not just for amateurs. Search on YouTube about Evo Japan Tekken 7.

This is like the major and grandest Tekken tournament where the best Tekken 7 players are gathered and competing in the tournament.

Some popular and confrontational games
The right word I think is competitive.

Just as the other sporting events, in esports we have teams and individuals competing with each other to upset the enemy and take the win for that game.

People can learn technology from it and appreciate the operation
It is the easiest way to learn technology as you get to enjoy while learning and the taboo about there's no future in esports or computer games has been changed.

Esports, are in essence, competitive gaming. As such, all of the games that you’ll be playing have an online, multiplayer focus. While this may at first glance seem as though it limits the number of games that you can play professionally, this doesn’t have to be the case.
