It looks like the OP has gotten quite a bit of advice and input on how he should buy his first bitcoin. There are lots of people welcoming him and directing him and this is great for beginners who are really interested in bitcoin. By the way, welcome to the bitcoin community forum.

If you are interested in bitcoin, you should also know a lot more about how to get started right and how you can secure it. Buying bitcoin or investing in bitcoin is inherently a risky activity, so be aware of this risk before you buy it for the first time. Take the time to read the following two resource.

1. https://bitcoin.org/en/getting-started
2. https://howtobuybitcoin.io/

Thank you very much for information.

I'll check gladly the two links.

You may follow next steps to buy and store BTC:
Step 1: Find a reliable Bitcoin wallet. Digital “wallets” store Bitcoin until you are ready to spend them or exchange them for another currency
Step 2: Choose the right Bitcoin trader
Step 3: Select your payment method
Step 4: Buy some Bitcoin and store them in your wallet
Step 5: Get ready to use it

Welcome to the club, img!  Cheesy

As for your second question, "How to store it?", I would recommend a hardware wallet. Hardware wallets are the best thing when it comes to storing your assets, and for an extra level of security, keep an offline copy of the seed phrase, just make sure only you have access to it.

You mentioned that you would like to use a mobile wallet as well, do you have any special reason for that? A mobile wallet gives hackers an extra vector of attack and my recommendation is to skip that. If you like, you can make a watch-only mobile wallet so that you have a practical overview of your assets, but no one will be able to spend the funds from it.

I'll just drop my 2 cents here regarding hardware wallets. As many here I to would recommend them. I personally have a Ledger Nano S and find it to be easy to use, inconspicuous when carrying around and for now, reliable. This is not me promoting thy specific type of wallet, you can go with other brands, but hardware wallets is the way to go. Even multiple ones can work if you are dealing with too much crypto. It supports Bitcoin, Cardano, Dash, Dogecoin, Ethereum and others, and that list will probably expand. It also is smart to combine that with a software wallet for your tokens.

1. How to buy directly, not to be on a trading website.
2. How to store it.

In my opinion and if you only want buy and hold:
1. Buy on the safest exchange like Coinbase
2. Hold your bitcoin on a ledger nano

Don't spend much time on research if you only want buy 1 BTC and wait till raise some thousands of dollars for selling.
Good luck!

I would like to buy and to store it simultaneous on a Mobile Wallet (a phone that I am not using), Paper Wallet and on a Hardware Wallet, if it is possible.
If you don't want to buy on centralized exchanges then you probably want to purchase directly from the seller like P2P or perhaps buy through Bitcoin ATMs if you had one in your country. I don't know exactly why you don't want to buy directly on a trading website but I assume because of KYC, but there are platforms that don't require KYC. In regards to storing, I would say that it is fine to store it in a mobile wallet but placing it in a hardware wallet would provide better security especially we are talking about 1 BTC here. And remember they say "don't put all of your eggs in one basket" so you might want to store it in a different wallet.

BIG WINNER!

although good recommendation I recognized the "wallet basic" and checked if the text was copy-pasted and they are. I suggest providing the source for it since it is against forum rules to plagiarise. it seems that you are quite new to th forum(maybe not) and still hasn't read the forum rules(Unofficial list of (official) Bitcointalk.org rules, guidelines, FAQ. it'll save you a lot of trouble reading it.

<…> FYI what I copy as you can check at the end of the website it says "No copyright ever. No rights reserved." <…>
Nevertheless, a link to the source is not really to cover copyright issues, but rather to avoid people passing on other people’s work as their own. Generally speaking, many may not be aware of this, especially at the beginning of their engagement with the forum (i.e. no formal indication upon registering of the forum’s rules), and where one may be trying to provide information, it can easily be misinterpreted (thus the link to the source requirement).

People do sometimes copy/[spin]/paste complete fragments or articles with the intent of obtaining merits, or increasing their posting counter with something that seems elaborate. They even resort to copying other people’s posts on and from the forum for those same reasons. That led to a forum rule to be instated (prior to the merit era infact) that dictates that plagiarism is not allowed, but as I said, more from an intentional point of view than a copyright one.

Buying Bitcoin is one important thing someone must invest in, this coin is appreciating rapidly and for you to buy or store, then you need a trusted partner or wallet that can guarantee you the security of your coin the way you will not be having double mind of its safety. Luno wallet is one of the safest wallet that can be used to buy, store and safe Bitcoin, though it has high price value in times of purchase but it is safer for your coin and the value in monetary terms appreciates in a way you will love it. So think of Luno and be rest assured of your coins safety.

Hi,

I want to buy 1 BTC, but I'm too stupid (I assume) to understand how it works, although I read some topics before mine.

Could I receive some advice regarding:

1. How to buy directly, not to be on a trading website.
2. How to store it.

I would like to buy and to store it simultaneous on a Mobile Wallet (a phone that I am not using), Paper Wallet and on a Hardware Wallet, if it is possible.

Which is the best combination (the price it doesn't matter).

PS. I live in Switzerland. In case it might help.

Thank you very much.

The buy directly part is confusing pal, are you trying to buy from someone? That is not safe and there is no way you won't buy from exchanges, other ways are through decentralized exchanges and p2p platforms but you still need to convert your FIAT to one crypto to trade on DEX, you have no choice but to use exchange like binance, they support switzerland

AFAIK Luno is knownly a crypto exchanges before and they also launch a online wallet (custodial).

Online wallet is not safe, since you could be potentially got many trouble with it (could be hacked, not fully control your money, asked provide KYC, hijack, phished and many more.

So, don't hold your wallet on online wallet since it's risky... choose non custodial wallet (e.g. electrum, trezor, ledger)

No, it absolutely doesn't have to be for those who don't believe in bitcoin and its potential.
In the real world, I still firmly believe that there are enough people who think that bitcoin is an investment that will eventually become a scam. Even though we know that this is not the case, then I will never force these people to believe in bitcoin until they realize its stupidity in the future.

I have seen and read two pages of this thread which contains great advice and tips for OP knowledge as well as much more. I would probably advise him to keep the privacy and security of what he is currently investing in. Bitcoin is a very valuable asset without being controlled by anyone. Bitcoin decentralization allows users to gain complete control over the assets they own and everything will be the responsibility of the user. Security is the most important thing after we buy bitcoin. Don't keep your bitcoin on an exchange if you don't want anything bad to happen in the future. Store it in a wallet that you can control anytime, anywhere with strong security. Remember those are not your keys, they are not your bitcoin.
