Hello dear Miners,

I service around 20+ miners. each with 6x RX580 (mining from early 2018). Now the owner of the miners want's to upgrade the miners to get better rewards. What card would you choose. We are only ETH focused. Don't come up with ETH 2.0 or ROI of the high GPU prices. Because that doesn't mater here. I was thinking of buying RX6800(XT)'s they are double the hashrate and with almost the same power usage. Also was thinking of getting 3090's but they are like 2,5 times the price of a 6800(XT)(around €1400 for the 6800XT and €3000 for 3090) so that's not a good option i guess. And we can only hold 3x 3090, because of the size and heat they produce. The miners are equiped with 2x corsair 850W power supply's.

I hope you guys can help me out.

Kind regards.

Your best bet to upgrade if you want to earn more as that is what your owners are asking is the most efficient card for me in term of profitability and power consumption which for me is without a doubt the RTX 3080 non LHR cards, they do 100 or near 100 Mhsh per card, they cost like 1700 EUR at most and they are 40% more powerful than Rx 6800 xt.I personally own Rx 6800 xt(s) and I am very happy with their performance but they just do 64 Mhsh compared to 100 Mhsh of the 3080 non LHR card.I would not look for other options or if you want very low power consumption you can opt for 3060 ti non LHR which can do 60-61 Mhsh at 120 watt power consumption.

That is also an option. But i can't find any retailer that had non-lhr cards in stock. So i skipped that option. And i think the 3080 are to big and power hungry for our rigs in terms of heat dissipation. Do you have any tips on how to find any non-lhr cards for europe/Netherlands?

Edit: oh and i saw people are getting 72-73 mhs from 6800(XT)'s so that would be perfect i think.

If that is the case the best option is Rx 6800 xt then.I never saw them doing 72-73 Mhsh unless you were mining ZIL with them which I have seen 71 Mhsh,in Ethereum the max they can do is 64 Mhsh and this is what I see as I am mining with them since February 2021.Where did you saw those people doing 72 Mhsh, a video or link would be very informational to me right now,it means I can add quite a lot of Mhsh in total if this happens to be true which I highly doubt it.

Wow,it is true then.I didn't know about this, now I will try to enable that smart access memory when my miners go down as they are running smoothly from many days now.I saw that guy was using phoenix miner which I use as well, thanks a lot for the video and now have no doubts, buy Rx 6800 Xt-s or even Rx 6800 as in the video the 6800 is being shown.

Unfortunately you need a strong latest gen AM4 Ryzen to support that, processors like mine,Intel 6th gen can't do that.

This video is over 8 month´s old and no one are interested and the reason is? Look at his GPU settings lol XD

Yeah with 183w software shown, so over 200w for 72mh. Makes no sense or i am wrong.
SAM has no impact on the mining speed. Or is he showing the difference between SAM on and SAM off? No he didn´t. Other Youtuber tested this and say the same -> SAM no impact on mining speed

Any suggestions for good 6800 models? The RX580 from Sapphire are rocksolid and have a very good cooling setup. The XFX and Gigabyte versions we have of the RX580 are running way hotter with alot of failing fans. Is this also for the RX6800? The Sapphires are way better than the rest? I heard good stories about the Powercolors.

That sounds great. At what power usage? And do you need to enable SAM?  I'm waiting for Hiveos to import TB miner.

And do you need to enable SAM?

For the 6800XT on stock clocks slight power increase on higher intensity. Not sure about the 6800, but I expect similar results.

--xintensity 1: 213W
--xintensity 512: 230W

v1.09 is producing abit high amount of stale shares when using high intensity. So you need to mine on a pool that pay for stales. v1.10 will have an improved dynamic intensity to reduce stales.

And do you need to enable SAM?

Enable SAM for more speed increase.

And we can only hold 3x 3090, because of the size and heat they produce. The miners are equiped with 2x corsair 850W power supply's.

I hope you guys can help me out.

Kind regards.

Hey bro,

I see that you're looking for cards to upgrade your rigs. I have around 40 GPU's , most of them are RTX 3070 and 3080. Every one of them is non-LHR, because I've bought them in late April. I have extended warranties on all of them. For example the Zotac 3070/3080 have warranty until 04.2026.

I have gotten enough out of mining and will purchase a car after selling those rigs. I'll be listing them in ebay/amazon shortly.
They're in a temperature controlled, dust-free and window-free room, with a 9500W cooling power AC, so I don't have a card over 45 degrees celsius, also no card is running more than 65% fan speed. (I know its overkill, but it's better to be safe than sorry)
All of the cards were purchased from Germany, and I have saved their original packaging and boxes in perfect condition.

Some of the models are the following:
1. MSI Gaming X trio non-LHR 3070 , 61,5mhs= 10 pcs
2. Zotac Amp Holo non-LHR 3070 , 61,5 mhs = 6 pcs
3. Gigabyte gaming OC non-LHR 3070 , 61,5mhs = 12 pcs
4. PNY XLR8 gaming revel non-LHR 3070 61,5mhs = 5 pcs
5. MSI SUPRIM X non-LHR 3070 61,5mhs = 4 pcs
6. MSI SUPRIM X non-LHR 3080 100 mhs (91c mem) = 5 pcs
7. EVGA SC ULTRA 1660super 31,8mhs = 6pcs

The rigs are located in Europe. And prices won't be scalpers , but neither MSRP.

If you're interested let me know Smiley

Thanks for the offer but i think we are looking for new cards. And compared to the 6800(XT)'s the 3070 are almost the same.

in some countries rx6000 series is cheaper than nvidia 3000 series, cause ray tracing feature really bad on amd gpus, and thats quite the advantage for miner buying these card wich is the price rx 6800 same as rtx 3060 in my country, for resale value surely nvidia won,

I also think about how to modernize my farms, and I try to choose such video cards for replacement so as not to change anything else.
That is, there must be video cards with a power consumption of no more than 130-140 watts.
The 3090 will require other raisers and power supplies (possibly).
I would take Nvidia and AMD 50/50.
But I wouldn't update now anyway. If you want to spend money, then I would build additional mining farms.
