End of the Road: How Money Became Worthless -film which everybody has to watch

Watched this documentary type film on youtube last week (Feb25th actually ) and thought I would share it here from the current environment we are living in with everything bombarding us left and right in the financial system.

Filmed by 100th Monkey in 2012 so over 9 years ago and somethings within this docufilm has nailed a couple of key things which have already happened recently.
Just watch if you believe there needs to be a new system put in place if we are to survive along side with something worth it's actual value and not set by the money printers of the world.
Sets the stage for bitcoin inorder to make it more apparent were the key to this puzzle lies.

I do think to reach this point we still have a lot of years to come. Honestly bitcoins is amazing but it itself have more uses when coupled with fiats. You have a wider area of usage and your trading can be easily connected to your bank/wallet and can get withdrawals 24*7 instantly. Not everywhere is bitcoins accepted. But considering that this documentary was filmed 9 Years before ! That's insane because we are apparently facing the problem today! But as you see on the video most of the comments are weeks old, months old because we see the problem right now. The film is actually extremely long and therefore I do think I am not going to get time for it anytime soon! But rest it's good , if I get time to see it!!!
Then comes the predictions 😅 this thing is scary since it's not just a person in speculative boards saying something but rather its a person who kept this specifically in a picture made in 2012 maybe he guessed the negative factors ? Idk

It is a nice one, really. Thanks for sharing and for reminding me of it as it went mostly forgotten! I cannot recall when I first watched it but what I do remember is that it was about the same time when I first got to know about BTC.
Before getting into BTC, I was really into understanding the mechanics of money and that documentary was quite good.
I suggest reading the Bitcoin Standard to dive deeply into these topics.

I finally got around to watching this documentary and have to say it is good.

It contains a lot of info that is accurate which commonly goes unacknowledged by official sources. Descriptions and explanations could be better. They label portions of the US economy a ponzi scheme without doing the best job backing their claims. They discuss trade deficits without fully going into detail and explaining the necessary exposition fully.

One might say there are a few critical points they got wrong back then in 2012. Which they would have realized in watching economic & market trends from 2012 - 2021. If Dr Seuss were banned in 2012 they might say it was motivated by market mechanics, rather than politics. 2020 - 2021 may lend a slightly different perspective.

It is definitely worth a watch IMO. I'll try to watch it twice or three times to make certain I get their points due to how condensed portions of it are.

Fiat is not backed by gold and now the fiat system is about to collapse. The only way to solve this crash is to get back to the gold standard where the money is backed by gold but then they are also not talking about this solution because they are also suppressing the price of gold. Where else do we go from here but Bitcoin.

Everything is a Ponzi if you want to believe that it is a Ponzi. By definition, Ponzi is when the first investor are getting their profits from the investment of the second investor without the second investor knowing about it and with the top of the chain having all the benefit. How can you say that fiat is not backed by gold when most countries have a reserve of gold in their vaults and I believe that it directly affects the prices of fiat.

Peter Schiff has been selling the same thing for as long as I've known who he was, and apparently never gets tired of being wrong. The dollar has "been on the verge of collapse" forever, his repeated failures predicting bitcoin would never hit X dollars or to get out before it collapses... his very public failures are not small in number.  I don't know why anyone pays attention to him honestly.

Thanks for the documentary movie suggestion, I'll add it into the watchlist. After printing this huge amount of worthless money in all over the world and the corruption on economic system we can truly say fiat money is in end of the road. Actually, people maybe don't believe it. But, during the history money was evolving all the time. In my own idea the last generation can be the crypto assets. However, the current crypto system needs much more progress to be the new generation of the money. For example, things like transaction fee for little transactions needs to be solved.

Crazy, isn't it?  Nine years and money is still being printed as if the Fed were using it to fund a crack habit--and because of COVID, US citizens are just getting free cash.  When is this insanity all going to end?  That's one question I have, but the more important question is how it's going to end, which I suspect is going to be very badly.

I've seen that documentary before, and I'm watching it again now.  There are some pretty good related videos, too.  I don't think we should go back to being on the gold standard, but the system is incredibly broken as it is and I'm not sure if it can be fixed.  I'm not even sure the Fed or anyone else is thinking of a way to fix it.  That's the scary part.

There was something I was reading about this very topic the other day and it seems to mean more today than ever before.
And the finiancial system should heed these word if the world wants to change before the inevitable will certainly having to be bound to happen.

Thanks for sharing. There are many people including some relevant figures that point out at supercycles of debt, similar to those on commodities.

It's a decent documentary with familiar faces such as Peter Schiff, who has preached this stuff for more than 15 years. Hence, I'm not going to follow "Dr. Doom's" path with wild predictions; the big crisis is around the corner, etc. Most of the time, it will only embarrass you since no one can predict the future.

But sure, the currency has been debased so severely that it is now "worthless." But that doesn't mean it is going to collapse anytime soon.
