Hi everybody,

I have actually 7 rtx 3070 and I have some problem with one of them. Theorically is one of the best cards out of the box: gigabyte aorus master, but the reality is completely different...

A much cheaper zotac twin edge gets less hashrate, with much less consumption (116w vs 147w) and also is warmer.

The values applied here after so many test are the following: 55 power limit, -502 cc, +1034 memory, 75 fans.

I think there are 2 problems here: one is the core clock speed that I can't reduce more (or don't know how to do - I use Afterburner), as it is operating at 1270 mhz aprox versus 990 mhz of the zotac twin.

The second one is the fuc..... screen of the aorus master, all time running wasting my energy and overheating the card for sure. I have searched over the internet and couldn't be able to find any reference to how to turn off this shit.

Thanks in advance and regards

Each GPU has its own minimum TDP.. Galax 3070 dual fan is 45%, not sure about other manufactures/models..

You can change your clock until you get a decent result, I'm using +54, +0, +1200 here.. 61,5 mh/s

The second one is the fuc..... screen of the aorus master, all time running wasting my energy and overheating the card for sure. I have searched over the internet and couldn't be able to find any reference to how to turn off this shit.

I'm sure it doesn't waste that much energy.. don't worry about it.

Keep in mind each card is different from another, even the same brand can have different performance

In my experience, 3070 doesn't need to reduce core clock, you can measure the power consumption, there's no difference, not even a single watt, so it's better to let running without touch the core clock
My 3070 Asus Dual Fan achieve 60.8Mhs, and it's good, 140w from the wall (120w on the software)

The led screen uses only a few watts, I never measure one, but you can be sure that's less than 5w for example (I think 2 or 3w maximum)

If you are using Hive OS for example, there's a feature to disable all leds of GPUs when it's possible

What's the hashrate of this 3070?

55 power limit- good
+1034 memory -good (But you can also try higher values up to +1250,But it may be necessary to adjust these values for each card individually.)
 75 fans -good
-502 cc  -  What for? usually set the value -100
Do you have a wattmeter to check your consumption from the wall?

There is one thing that Nicehash did so right and that's the ability to low power consumption right in the mining software dashboard or application on your smartphone, this feature is automatically set off, you can on it in miner software settings, very handy

Additional things to look at.

With a problem card, I get some success with:

1) Swapping/exchanging the trouble maker's riser with a neighboring card or a known new one.

2) Lowering the core clock by about 10%.

3) Update to the latest mining software and card driver.

I would also consider whether you have a large enough swap file.

#2 the hashrate of my aorus is about 57 mhs...

answering #3

theorically lowering the core clock results in lower consumption and less gpu heat, right?

I have a wattmeter but they are connected to my other 2 rigs

#4 I use phoenix miner

#6 how to lower core clock more? I didn't see any option to reduce it more than -502 mhz, drivers are the last ones but the swap file do you consider it is strictly neccesary with only 2 cards connnected?

AORUS ENGINE
(RGB Fusion 2.0 included)
Release Note:
Support more models
Have you tried this utility to turn off the video card screen?
The minimum core frequency is set in the BIOS of the video card.
If so, then you will not be able to reduce the core frequency below these values.
I will not advise reflashing the BIOS.
