Hello,

I have a small question about the power supply for the Bitmain S9i, on the APW3++ 12-1600 power supply it says 220v, maximum 10A.

Could you tell me if it is dangerous to run my S9i at 1600W?

If I'm not mistaken, 10A in 220v gives 2200W max.

So whether it's for the miner or the power supply, is it dangerous to ask Braiins OS+ to run it under 1600W, 1800W or even 2000W?

Thanks in advance

The APW3++ has a max. power capacity of 1600W.
You can not exceed it.

A stock condition Antminer S9i 14Th/s has a nominal power load of 1320W.

Ok, thanks for your answer.

It's a question I was asking myself since some people overclock to the maximum and with 1600W it's relatively limited.

I would not recommend overclocking the S9 because it will shorten its lifetime.

Hello,

A small question about this 1600W power.
I have one of my S9i that has a card out of order, so I unplugged it.
If I leave the Braiins OS+ configuration on 1600W, will I have a maximum of 800W in each card or will the software automatically calculate to put only 533W per card?

That is not power supply dependent.

That depends on how BraiinsOS works, which I don't know.
You might want to go to the Braains thread and  ask questions about Braains there.

Thanks for the tip, I've posted 😉

it should pull ⅔ 1600 = 1067 watts.

No it doesn't. Braiins OS+ delivers 1/3 of the power limit value you specify to each hashboard, doesn't matter if you have 3, 2 or 1 there is no need to change this value when you disable or remove hashboards.

Do not run PSUs near their max rated capacity. The Bitmain documentation for the APW3++ clearly states that efficiency drops hard after 93.5% load, this means 1496W. The default in Braiins OS is 1420W (473W or slightly less per hashboard) which leaves some safety margin. The miners tend to be more efficient with lower values, such as 1320W if you want to match stock firmware and yet produce better results at the same power use. Many people go even lower to about 900W (300W per hashboard) which even lets them use 110v and remove one fan.

BTW: In Braiins OS you can disable hashboards without the need to unplug them, just disable it in Miner > Configuration, at the Override Global Hash Chains sections the "Enable" check boxes.
