A widget, app or website (in those order of preference) where I could enter a date range and it would tell me what the lowest and highest point of the coin was during those times.

So let's say I want to know what the lowest point and the highest point of Bitcoin was between May 6, 2021 - May 12, 2021. Or at least between the tool's predetermined times that I could select (1 day, 7 days, a month...etc).

I'm aware that almost every wallet or bitcoin tool does this...but actually, not really. See my very brief post here which shows screenshots of how they don't.

Without much thought I can say that the easiest way to get it is to visit CMC (coinmarketcap), select BTC and then click on "Historical data". Then select "Date Range" and set the dates for the time period you are interested in. So you will get 4 prices for each day in that period - "Open-High-Low-Close".

The only thing you need to know is that CMC takes the average price from all the crypto exchanges listed on that page - so it can very easily happen that you see data that differs elsewhere.

  • As investor or trader, you might use Trading view that is available for mobile.
    • It is less comfortable when you use the mobile version but there are some tutorial (see below)
    • Reminder: visit the official website of TradingView and download app, please don't search for any app directly in app stores. You might find fake apps, especially in Google Play.
    • At the bottom of official website, you will get download links for App Store or Google Play
  • How to get to the specific date on the chart. Use Go to, and customize a day you want.
  • Tap and Hold to Track Values on Mobile Devices!. Tap and hold or Long-tap to get details for one candle.

If you are looking for a web app then you can use either coinmarketcap or coingecko. On both websites you can adjust the date range to display only the set of data you are interested in (follow Lucius instructions to change the date range and it works almost the same way on both websites).
However, I personally prefer the latter because I find it easier to use and loads faster than cmc. Besides, they have an Android app and a free api in case you want to retrieve data without having to access their website or want to develop your own app.

You can find this feature in Coingecko. There is option where you can set date of start and end. I have tried it and it is working correct so you can check it.

I guess most crypto price-tracking website have implemented such feature, like on cmc you can just highlight the chart for specific date you want, check the lowest and the higher point of such date range. You can also use the 1d, 7d, 1m, 3m, 1y for dates instead.

Does Coingeko just tell you what the highest and what the lowest price was at a given time without moving the cursor on the chart?

I think he is talking about the historical data you don't need to move any cursor on the chart just put the date that you want to see the price on that date.

Look at this direct link instead https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/bitcoin/historical_data/usd?end_date=2021-05-15&start_date=2021-05-08#panel

It only shows the open and close price for each day in the specified date range. It doesn't show the highest and lowest price.
I downloaded both Coingecko an CMC apps and it appears that CMC is way better. Coingecko app doesn't show the historical data. CMC mobile app does show the historical data and you can specify the date range but it gives the highest and lowest price per hour not per day.
I hope this answers your question Smiley
