What Colored Coin implementation is best for a CO2 certificate token?

Hello dear Bitcoin Community,

we would like to create a CO2 certificate token on the Bitcoin blockchain.

The idea behind it is that forest owners get rewarded for CO2 reduction (per tonne) by token issuance and can sell their tokens to CO2 producers.
I listed the full details on our website http://10xrecovery.org/.

We want to build it on top of Bitcoin, because...

• it's probably the most secure blockchain.
• we want this project to last.
• we want to make issuance public to prevent fraud.
• we want to prevent a central database from getting hacked.
• we want to make token burning public so that companies can do this for their brand image.

To progress on this project, I have the following questions:

• What Bitcoin Colored Coins are open-source and similar to our project so that we can bootstrap from other projects?
• Is there any Wallet and/or Colored Coin protocol that fits best our needs? And, why?

All world is gone mad with this carbon bs propaganda, and we actually need to have CO2 to live, plants need it to grow, and we are all made from carbon, but we sure don't need to have any CO2 certificate tokens on Bitcoin blockchain.
I don't think colored coins ever gained any popularity on Bitcoin and even some forked projects failed to get any traction with them (read Roger Ver).

You can't make tokens in the bitcoin blockchain. To make tokens you need the smart contract feature, that's why only coins like ETH can make tokens. If you want to fork the bitcoin code to make a new coin that's possible, but for that, you will have to run nodes and have miners. And miners are against the green idea.

I would recommend you learn more about tokens before creating one.
