All the current transactions are going to be included in the next block, give me one reason reason to use a 252 sat fee instead of 1

Edit: Someone just placed a 468 sat fee 0.o?

Could've been for various possible reasons.

1. A very bad wallet fee recommendation
2. A transaction that consists of a huge amount of bitcoin(e.g. an internal exchange hot<->cold wallet transaction)
3. Some dude that says "fuck it" and just wants to dump his/her bitcoin literally ASAP

4. Services such as exchanges or gambling sites that have bad code that is intentionally set to pay a higher fee so that they don't risk getting their transaction stuck and be flooded with complaints.
5. Unpopular terrible wallets created by stupid developers who use malicious centralized tools that intentionally report extremely higher fees. For example right now that worst case scenario is 1 to 10 satoshi/vbyte but the malicious site known as bitcoinfees.earn.com is suggesting 102 sat/byte!!!

fee instead of 1

Oh. Didn't know fees are soo low now. Its good time to consolidate my hotwallet and change n imputs into 1. Thanks.

All the current transactions are going to be included in the next block, give me one reason reason to use a 252 sat fee instead of 1
Edit: Someone just placed a 468 sat fee 0.o?

Majority of crypto exchanges charge 0.0005BTC for withdrawal - 17$ so they dont really care if they set fee as 1 sat or 50 sat. They mostly overpay for each withdrawal because 5$ more for withdrawal is less than 10 work hours of employee to answer 1000 support tickets for stuck withdrawals in case of rapid increase of traffic.

100 sat+ in situation like today is for sure a mistake or very bad wallet.

BTW: I think this site is better to monitor network traffic.

@BitScorpio
You have to realize that not many people look at the state of the mempool before broadcasting their transactions. They either rely on their wallets to suggest what fees to use, and those are too high most of the time. Or, they use even worse fee estimators that can be even worse at times because they suggest 10, 20 or 100 times higher fees than what is needed.

Some bitcoin users get worried that their coins will magically disappear if their transaction isn't confirmed within a few minutes. To avoid all that, they would rather overpay. People are still used to traditional banking where everything happens in just a few seconds. At least, that's how it seems. They don't care what happens in the background.

#1 and #3 are my answer to OP's question it is either I don't care much about the fee because I need it ASAP or the fee is set by the site where my funds came from.
There are also some who doesn't know how to fix the fee or doesn't want to wait for too long so they would pay a high fee for it.

Oh true. What I meant was it's just one of those kinds of transactions similar to my #3 example, whereas hundreds and thousands of BTC are going to be transferred anyway that paying for a fee that could go upwards of a hundred dollars worth is irrelevant.

6. Someone increased the fee to use an entire output exactly and avoid creating any change for privacy reasons.
7. Someone increased the fee to make their change output(s) indistinguishable from their recipient output(s).

These are the most common reason I have for overpaying a fee. I don't mind losing an extra buck or two to a fee if it means creating zero change, not having a small change output that I need to consolidate later and potentially compromise my privacy. Although, in the majority of cases of fee overpayments, it is for reason number 1 above - a poor quality wallet or service automatically suggesting a gross overpayment and the user either not realizing or not knowing any better.

Maybe someone wanted to write some message in specific block so they overpaid the fees to make sure transaction is confirmed faster, but you would be surprised that many people have no idea how to manually adjust fees for Bitcoin.
Few example of this messages in Bitcoin blockchain is tribute to Len Sassaman or biblical message in 666,666th Bitcoin block ''Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.''
Fee paid for this was 135,800 sat, fee rate was 596.9 sat/vB or $55.19.

Nothing is wrong here.

Those who can afford to pay these fees, they will pay it. Those who cannot, they won't. I am pretty sure most bitcoin users know to adjust the transaction fees yet they choose to pay big fees anyway. Maybe they want to make a donation to the miners, that I cannot know but I think that's a possibility.
