When is the right time to lock a topic?

The OP question reminds me of a variety of topics newbies discover about the dangers of plagiarism, or how to rank up. Having created a topic, they no longer read it and subsequently do not follow the advice.
OP, you were already on the forum today, and do you think all the answers that appeared in this thread are not informative enough for you? Or do you observe communication between users about the time when it is necessary to close the topic?

If you meant this as an example, then you are correct, but no right time to lock a thread, it depends on the topic author's choice. Although, admin or any moderator can decide to lock any topic at any time if it will only result to repetition and spamming.

The right answer to this is now, now is appropriate for the topic to be locked, just like Igehhh suggested. If the topic is not locked now, quality posters that would have read the previous replies have nothing to post here again, it only remain the thread to remain inactive or spammers making use of it for posting. So, in my opinion, I too will suggest this thread to be locked now.
