Should There Be A Metaverse Constitution?

It stipulates that people are concerned that the metaverse will collapse as a public, open system if it does not adopt some of the same guiding principles as social media.
A good reason the article gave is the United States Constitution which is the cornerstone of the country, guaranteeing each citizen’s rights and responsibilities. Therefore, without a law guiding the space, it will be bound to fail.

This would be a mere symbolic act in my opinion. The Metaverse (and in extension the internet in general) is not a place free of laws or outside of jurisdiction. Laws and rules of the real world are also valid there. What would be rather necessary is a better international co-operation to enforce real-world laws within the internet (and metaverse)

It is more like saying there should be a cryptocurrency constitution, perhaps that would be more ideal instead of having a part of the space constitutionalized why not apply it to the whole crypto space! So far the cryptocurrency space was able to do just fine without any strict governing rules, I don't see why metaverse would collapse and should only be the focal point.
Anyways, governments are already doing their best to impose regulations, I won't be surprised when it happens.

Metaverse is an old concept with a new title. It's basically virtual/ar layer on top of reality and most laws of "reality" apply, at least same laws like in everywhere at the internet. It doesn't need a constitution because it's an open concept, it's like saying that open source should stay open source and that needs some sort of constitution. It's open by definition like meta is just metalayer on top of reality, connecting people to each other with various protocols.

The concepts contained in the metaverse are an additional layer above the social network based entirely on 3D modelling and therefore will work on central servers, which in turn will be subject to some service regulations, just as in social media.

Some centralized portals can be connected, and then whoever has the ability to manage these resources will set the laws, and then it is like the Internet.

It is not fully decentralized, but rather distributed so that each country sets certain conditions for metaverses, and companies in certain countries may create their own metaverses.

Thats true.. I believe government will find a way to seek control of the cryptocurrency space at large. The truth is government is a threat to the whole ecosystem.

As simple as that, I know that people are hyped about the new developments that we are seeing but at the same time the metaverse is still going to have to follow the laws set by governments as the entities behind it exist in the real world, however it is to be expected that at the beginning there will be a significant amount of freedom as governments try to find a way to better regulate this new technology, and then after some time those freedoms slowly fade away as those regulations come, similar to what we saw with social media and the Internet.

If something is completely decentralized then there is no such thing called regulations, governments may restrict the people by passing laws like penalty will be there if they found doing anything against the laws but its not possible to stop a decentralized thing and it will be unstoppable as well if more people adopt to it.

Nah, I don't think that we need some constitution in metaverse, in the first place we don't have any governing body and now they are talking about constitution?

If metaverse are going to collapse then so be it, that is the nature of the market we live in, some die, some stay in the market for so long before they die. Some specially prime movers stay strong. If metaverse is a prime mover then it will stay in the market regardless of constitution or not.

In my opinion, in the case of metaverse getting a legal or constitutional umbrella, it is a very reasonable and very good thing based on the amount of fear for metaverse users themselves when at one time something is felt to be unfair to every user in applying the rules or a violation and also cheating in it.

in terms of whether decentralization is good or not, decentralization is like two sides of a coin, because they need each other and it is very binding and that is also a reference for every circulation in the concept of metaverse development itself as well as crypto circulation today exists and is decentralized but anonymous which will not surface.

I do not think that creating a constitution for cryptocurrencies is easy, as it is known that a decentralized system cannot be controlled by any party. However, I believe that it is possible to create a decentralized and secure cryptocurrency with the help of blockchain.()
The government does not have the ability to control any person’s cryptocurrencies, nor the company. All data will be transparent and will be stored on the distributed database. This protection is based on blockchain technology, which is a database that cannot be changed or deleted by anyone.!!!

I think it is very difficult to make a constitution for the metaverse, because cryotocurrancy is very decentralized so it is very difficult to be controlled by any party, even though there are some countries that prohibit the circulation of crypto and develop in their countries, but I am very sure that a country cannot control the use of the metaverse on a large scale- the amount by its citizens, so I think the current constitution is not right to apply it in the cryptocurrency world.

Each project has a separate metaverse, so it is definitely impossible to create anything uniform that will suit each world. I think each project will just have to create something like Terms of Service where all the rules will be listed.

The thing is that the metaverse can coexist with the traditional law system.

There is nothing that says that can't happen. And it's happening already. Things which happen in the metaverse are still governable by rules and regulations and are not out of the bounds of law.

So with that said, it would be completely unnecessary and unfathomable that this happens (if the developers have some sense and don't want regulators to jump on their backs).
