Warranty seals Gigabyte RTX 3080 Ti


I was told by many engineers that Gigabyte does not use warranty seals, and I thought that this was actually the case.
Here are the photos for you. If you have seen something like this, please write about it. This is the first gigabyte video card that I saw warranty seals on.

The white paper on the screw means warranty intact? I have two gigabyte graphic cards rtx3060ti and rtx3070 that has no white paper on all screws available I dont know if this helps or not, your gigabyte gpu is strange lol but sorry I don't have 3080Ti.

Did they really just start using warranty seals now after all those years? I can't remember but it was always 50/50 between manufactures with warranty seals and not.

Another thing that is strange is say you bought an MSI card, and a few months later buy another MSI card, brand new from box. And one has the seal and the other doesn't. They were never consistent throughout all these years.

Since they were never consistent how do they know which came with warranty seals or not? Maybe now more cards have it since the value is much higher than in the past.

Very interesting, but I have not seen MSI video cards without warranty seals. I have seen some graphics cards where two of the four screws had warranty seals. Maybe it depends on the country where the given batch of cards is sent.

This changes between manufacturers and also it changes based on the time we are in.Not that many years ago MSI was offering their cards with a massive 10-year warranty and that was greatly abused by people that made MSI go back to the regular warranty they have always offered.I also never have seen before a warranty seal on a Gigabyte card and the Rx 5700 Xt that I have from them doesn't have one such seal as the one in the photo.

I've never seen warranty seals on Gigabyte cards in my country

I have cards with seals:
Powercolor
Sapphire
MSI
Asus

Without seals:
EVGA
Galax (you can even change thermal paste / thermal pad without lose warranty)

Another thing to consider, in my country Gigabyte is very slow with RMA (at least they offer 3 years warranty)

I think the reason why they put warranty seals on GPUs is because many gamers want to swap the thermal paste for something for efficient. And the issue here is that depending how old is the GPU, usually the thermal paste can be completely solid and you need to give it a yank to loosen it.

Then what happens is the solder cracks on the GPU chip and eventually the card will be dead within a few weeks or months with enough heat cycles. This is probably the most common reason why they use those seals.
