If "puddinpop" has lost his wallet, then he should be informed about it.

Why are you interested in the wallet? it doesn't seem as if the owner has lost his wallet since it is right there on his signature, there is no current transaction on the wallet since 2010, and the user was last active here in the forum in October 14, 2021, puddinpop, between i was expecting to see a story according to the topic heading.  Huh

My "Newbie" status does not allow me to insert pictures in this text. Open the links and you will see the story of how "puddinpop" got 10K BTC and disappeared.
He received these coins for opening the program code for bitcoin mining on video cards.
Whether this user is alive or not is the question.

It was a donation for his work! so what do you expect him to do with the donation? there was no condition attached to the donation that prevent him from accessing the coins, beside, being a newbie does not prevent you from doing a little digging, i have shared a link of his profile in my first post, if you are really eager you can use the link to get more info regarding the topic.
Let me assist your quest a bit further "I have some good news.  Because of a generous contribution by jgarzik, I am releasing the code for the CUDA client".

And remember, when that donation was made 10k btc didn't worth much so even the rest members didn't raise any issue with the donation. And why do you care if he is alive or not?

"And why do you care if he is alive or not?"

He is not a lonely person and he probably has a family or relatives. If they found out that these coins just lie in some old computer at their place, then there would certainly be transactions at these addresses. Therefore, I created this topic to find at least someone who has access to the password or private key, and so that if they are relatives, then they have the right to know about these coins.

I’m not worried about this news because it’s actually cutting down the supply of bitcoin circulation by 10,000 bitcoins. This means we have that much shorting into the market and well demand is always rising so that’s an advantage.  Grin Grin

It’s obviously poor thing that people are so careless and all the time I hear news about people who has huge amount of bitcoin. I’m not sure what happens when bitcoins are grown in number then people get jumbled about its maintenance or something else goes on their mind!!

Yes, this is good, but market and price manipulation occurs even without these coins, and family and relatives have the right to know about this history of forgotten coins. Maybe they really need money, medicine in the USA is very expensive. You can't think only about yourself. It's a big tragedy if the relatives of "puddinpop" need these coins, and who do not know that they have an old computer with these coins in their basement, garage or closet.
