I just got my hands on a mgi-9 sapphire rig without gpus.

The cpu control board seems to be defective though ...

Bios is set to default.

Symptoms:

The board starts but hangs/restarts/crashes either within minutes or longest maybe 12 hours.

I switched out the ram module and also tried a usb stick instead of the onboard ssd, still crashes tho.

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement cpu control board only?

I can only find whole rigs, but I would like to replace the cpu control board.

It might be worth trying a different PSU first. If it can run for over an hour a control board
problem seems less likely.

It might also be useful to install 1 GPU as a troubleshooting exercise. Does it boot with a GPU?
Is it detected? This might provide a clue. Also do some testing while the system is running,
try different things to see if you can find a trigger.

Without GPUs you say? I'm suspecting your CPU maybe there is no enough thermal paste for cooling? Remove the cooler fan and see for yourself if there is enough thermal paste on the CPU or just reapply thermal paste and test again.

Can you replace the CPU control board yourself? If you aren't into such professional you will ruin the motherboard, I'd rather buy a new mobo instead of trying to fix this, that's if you are certain it's the CPU control board.
