10th Bitbills anniversary commemorative Coldkey

We are proud to announce to you a release to commemorate the 1st ever loaded physical crypto item : Bitbills.
Thank you very much ChiBitCTy for sharing with us this original idea.
Without you, these magnificent Coldkeys would not exist. Smiley

Bitbills have been available in 2011 for a short period of time.
Not many Bitbills are in existence, demand was limited given the cypherpunk nature of BTCitcoin and the time it needed to ramp up in power.

Nowadays, original Bitbills are among the most desirable physical BTCitcoins.
One Bitbill, any one of them, is worth a small fortune.

We are happy to celebrate Bitbills, and remind of them as the originator of the physical Bitcoin movement.

This Coldkey release is made of 50 sets of 4 Coldkeys.
3 sets are in Gold, serialized from #1 to #3.
7 sets are in Silver, serialized from #4 to #10.
40 sets are on plain white cards, serialized from #11 to #50.
Retail price for a full set of plain (white) 4 commemorative Coldkeys is $160.

They are denominated at the original BTC of Bitbills but divided by 1,000. Tongue
These Coldkeys are Buyer Funded.

The Gold and Silver sets are going to be auctioned in two times.
The Regular plain Coldkeys are also going to be sold in two times.

Sales to start soon. Smiley
Auction to start tomorrow.

The Gold and Silver sets will come with Coldkey NFTs. Smiley
(Exemple of a Gold Coldkey NFT : https://solscan.io/token/7MzYzd27VbwoterHhSHK35fnzyF58TqXUc61HreJd6KZ )

Plain Coldkey sets buyers will have the option to receive the NFTs matching their physical Coldkeys for an additional $80.

They are minted on Solana. You can use Phantom wallet in a browser to receive your Coldkey NFT.

Thank you very much for reading ! Smiley

hoping to get one of each of these! nice work!

the retail price of $160 makes these very affordable - though I saw hint of an auction and that there are only 50 sets so pretty sure no one set will go for the retail price.

the goal would be to get a full gold set, a full silver set and a full white set.

Hello,

I apologize for asking, but can you please let's know from the pictures which CK belongs to the gold, resp. silver, resp white edition? Thanks.

Absolutely.

You can tell by looking at the QR code on the front. If the "white part" of the QR code is white, gray (for silver) or gold.
In OP, the first 2 pictures of the 20mBTC Coldkey are plain (white).
The 2 following ones (10mBTC) are Gold.
The last two (1mBTC) are Silver.

I will update the ANN with more content when the auction has started, a bit later today. Smiley

Thanks for the explanations. I would have thought that the higher denomination would match the gold edition, but it turns out that it is not the case.

Are all of these cards made from the same raw materials, and do some contain (plated?) Gold or Silver?

Unfortunately, no. Sad
We cannot realize such high quality cold storage wallets on a metallic support.

Maybe some day down the line we will figure it out, but it's not in our priority list.

Thanks Wink
I still have a question though  Grin Grin
I read (somewhere) that each set contains four CK. Do the 4 CK (identical?) share the same address?
In other words, does on set contain 4 or 1 wallet?

The Coldkeys displayed in the pictures are imperfect indeed.
They have been produced for our prototype book and to display them.

One set consist of 4 different Coldkeys.
Each existing Coldkey contain an unique pair of keys.
To reply to you : one of these set contains 4 wallets.

I will update it later when I will have the pictures of the Coldkeys that are will be auctioned within a couple hours. Smiley

Ok, so taking into account the 3 editions, there are in total 12 different visuals. Is it correct?

Absolutely, there are 3 different variations of material (white cards, silver and gold ones).
Also, the denominations and colors are a tribute to the original Bitbills : 1mBTC in Blue, 5mBTC in Green, 10BTC in Red, 20BTC in Black.
