I strongly believe if as an investor the major concern is centered only on how much you are making with your capital neglecting the chances of increasing your amount of coin in your wallet then such is more of a gambler and less of an investor
That is not actually true, it is called passive income. What is more important is that fiat is depreciative which is one of the reasons bitcoin is appreciative (increasing in value/price). Another reason is the limited supply and adoption which have significantly made bitcoin price to increase. In short, bitcoin is an appreciative asset, holding it makes its value worths more in the future.
My question now is what is the need of investment if the amount of coin before the dip is exactly the same during the new bump.
The value during the dip is the same value during the new pump? Those are some altcoins, not bitcoin, for bitcoin, all-time-high have been achieved every 4 years so far. For some altcoins, yes it is gambling.
