There's a lot of controversy about this and it's impossible to say unequivocally how the price of ETH will behave after the transition to PoS. It will be as the community and investors will decide. But there is also a common opinion, that the transition to PoS won't happen for a long time, it will be a long story. Also, we can't rule out a split in the community and the formation of a hardfork, where there will be PoW ETH and PoS ETH. There is a huge investment in ETH mining and it will not end that easily.
We often find information that one of the world's major mining companies has bought a lot of ASICs for bitcoin mining. I have not seen such information about Ethereum. I agree with you that the merger could be next year, but the roadmap has already been approved.

So are you saying that PoW is the only reason it is doing good? You don't care about why PoS is the choice by the people instead of PoW?

There are reasons why that PoW is being replaced with PoS.
  • Energy Consumption is getting high
  • More efficient with transactions

It's still the users and validators of the ETH network who would determine what they will be going through with the network and whether having been in a PoW or PoS makes them effective or not; it will continue. It's going to be determined what will happen in the future if something happens. If there's a vulnerability or something, we can say that it would've been better or something. For now, having it be improved is already better. I think everyone agrees on that.

OP, stop worrying about the thing that was unlikely to happen. People would rather to choice PoS over the PoW system but this never give a huge impact on the market besides, people will still choose ETH believing that it was a valuable asset. In fact, the future of ETH and these altcoins lies in the hand of the investors and also the value of the project in the community.

Of course, we could see dumps in prices because the entire market is in a bear situation. However, we don't make the reason for ETH transition from PoS to PoW because as per to see, this gives benefits to us. Yet, this wasn't known by many individuals.

I am not really sure what will be the disadvantage of the ETH having a PoS in terms of price, may I ask why do you think that the price will go down because of the PoS? I am currently don't have any news about ETH after I experience the really expensive fee I mostly use BSC and Bitcoin in my transactions, I nearly forgot about the ETH project. I thought they have the PoS a long time ago?

I also think so, almost no sources of losses from Ethereum caused by PoS are found, especially nowadays people rarely make transactions with ethereum, usually those who make transactions on ethereum are people who invest in large amounts, but there is no reason What I found was that PoS was the cause, or it could be because we rarely use it, so that information is not obtained
