I have a friend who has this strategy and he does pretty good. He bets on high odds games, but makes a parlay bet to increase the payout. So in a football match he'll choose the easiest picks, like the number of total goals in a match, or bets on the favorite, but does that 3 or 4 times in a row and if this hits he gets a lot of money. Though what you do is right and can be useful, I have tried doing the same and I lost a few bets even after betting on the team that was ahead in the game and the opponent had no chance of winning the game. I once made a bet on a cricket match where one team was way ahead of its opponent, and the same was the case for them in the points table, so I could never imagine that they would lose the game against the weakest team in the competition.

To my surprise, even though the target was very low, the team I had chosen couldn't win the match, and I lost my bet. So even though watching the game for a few minutes before making your bet and then making the bet when the game is live might give you some advantage, it can sometimes go against you when you are extremely unlucky.

There's the real essence of gambling on which you could really be able to make yourself that enjoy or entertained on guessing on whose gonna win.
