During a recession, people are normally under pressure and lack precision in judgement, they're always looking out for slightest medium that gives them hope. Gambling gives hope although an illusion of hope and people would jump readily at any possibility of making more money.
What becomes of concern is whether they would cool down to learn skilll-based gambling activities or go with easy luck based gambling since it's obvious that anyone that turns to gambling during those periods is in it for survival.
It's understandable that gamblers already into skill based gambling wouldn't likely opt in for luck based gambling but for the new people who would turn to gambling, where do we think they would go into?
It's funny how some of people missed the main point of the discussion and dishing out arbitrary comments. Most of them don't even read the OP but contribute mindlessly.
That depends on them what they will choose. They just want to make money even from gambling but yes, they must think about what way can give them money fast. They must calm down and not play gambling desperately because they will not think clearly.
But they may not cool down and difficult to think clearly because they are in hurry to have money. It is why they may be difficult to make money gambling even if they have skills.
They will not stop from playing gambling even they will buy lotteries because they think that is the easy way to make money. Every penny is worth it to them so they will keep trying.
But during recession, they can't feed off their frustration in gambling activities.
That will not help them make money instead of losing money.
